From the bold French roast to a lighter breakfast blend, the Keurig coffee brewer seems to be continuously working. While many people might have found their favorite brew, the most popular brewed coffee flavor seems to be universally liked by a broad spectrum of people. Is it your favorite flavor to start the day?

Recently, Keurig released its United States of Coffee data. While many people push that button to have their hot, iced, and freshly made coffee almost instantly in the cup, the popular brand has learned a lot about coffee habits and preferences.

According to the company study, the preferred cup size is 12 oz. While that size might be the standard coffee cup, but it seems smaller than the large sizes that are often served at coffee shops. The data shows that 88% of coffee is brewed to this size. Even though Puerto Rico and Washington DC prefer the 8 oz variety, it is a rousing statement that 12 oz is the size to beat.

In addition, the majority of people enjoyed a cup before noon. It seems that a bigger cup of coffee is the only way to start the day.

Do you agree with the most popular brewed coffee flavor?

As part of the Keurig United States of Coffee data, the most popular brewed coffee flavor might surprise people. Although seasonal offerings have their place when the fall comes and even a holiday blend can make an appearance of the end of the year, one flavor is preferred no matter the season.

According to Keurig, the most popular brewed coffee flavor is caramel. With 46 states placing caramel pods in their machines, it seems that the sweet life is filling that cup. It is interesting that coffee drinkers are starting with a sweeter coffee flavor before adding anything to it. Whether there is creamer, sugar, or something else added remains to be seen.

One of the reasons driving this caramel popularity could be the variety of caramel options. Starting with that sweeter base, coffee drinkers can make a balanced latte or event shake up a caramel coffee forward martini.

Still, the bigger statement that coffee drinkers are opting for caramel could be an interesting food trend. Although regular coffee will always be poured, it might be a little too simplistic for some people’s tastes. That caramel flavor offers a hint of different without going too far outside of the mug.

Looking ahead, what might fill that cup each morning? Today is caramel, but tomorrow might be something quite different.
