While the name is fun to say, the iconic breakfast combo is even more tasty to eat. One of the restaurant brand’s most iconic menu items is back. Ready to enjoy a forkful of the IHOP Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity, again?

Sometimes popular restaurants have a signature menu item. Even if that special food offering takes a hiatus from the table, guests often think about it fondly. From that first order to the most recent visit, the memory adds another layer of flavor.

As IHOP celebrates its 65th year, the popular restaurant is looking both at its past and its future. Having been part of many people’s lives for generations, it is time to bring back an iconic menu item, the IHOP Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity and give it a little modern update.

Our guests know Rooty Tooty by name, so we knew it was the perfect menu item to pull out of our recipe archives in celebration of our 65th year to share a nostalgic fan favorite with guests, and spread a little more joy this year.”

How is everyone celebrating the return of IHOP Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity?

The classic breakfast combo, two eggs, two bacon slices or two sausages links, and two fruit topped pancakes, returns with three new topping options. While the classic glazed strawberries were always a juicy, sweet favorite, the addition of Blueberry Topping, Seasonal Mixed Berry Topping and Cinnamon Apple is the variety that guests crave. Why not order the classic menu item time and again, yet with different options.

Even more important, the breakfast combo is just $6. Given that more consumers are food cost conscious, this menu choice fits into many people’s budgets. It is a hearty amount of food for under $10.

As part of the menu item’s return, IHOP is asking everyone “how do you Rooty?” Through a robust social media campaign, various people will be showcasing their favorite version of the combo. Whether that fruit topping has people busting a move, breaking into song, or maybe even has them composing a poem, a great meal is worthy of some creativity.

Since turning 65 is a momentous occasion, IHOP will be celebrating in a variety of ways. As the new General Mills cereal, IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal – Blueberry & Syrup, hits store shelves, it is one of several examples of the special events.

To everyone’s delight, IHOP National Pancake Day returns on February 28. Guests can receive a free short stack from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. at participating restaurants. Who can resist free pancakes?
