Duncan Hines adds four new Dolly Parton baking mixes to its line-up
After a successful launch, Duncan Hines and Dolly Parton are back in kitchen. Four new Dolly Parton baking mixes have been added to its line-up. For home cooks who are craving another taste of that Southern charm, these treats are waiting to whip up some special memories.
Similar to the first offerings in this sweet collaboration, the four new baking mixes are inspired by Dolly’s favorite family recipes. These four options are Buttermilk Biscuits, Cornbread, Fabulously Fudgy Brownies, and Caramel Turtle Brownies.
As shared in the company statement, Dolly Parton said “I’m really excited to launch more baking mixes steeped in my Southern roots, like Cornbread and Biscuits. I think folks are really going to like them and hope they’ll bake up some special memories with family and friends.”
Looking at the four new baking mixes, they offer the home cook more options in the kitchen. The addition of some savory choices could inspire cooks to think beyond the box. For example, there are some Dolly inspired recipes, like the Cheddar Chive Biscuits and the Jalapeno Cornbread, that showcase how these mixes can be used. Why can’t those biscuits be a simple topping for a pot pie or what about making them sweeter for a strawberry shortcake. It is a tasty starting point for some baking creativity.
While the new Dolly Parton baking mixes are coming to store shelves this month, Duncan Hines will be offering a special baking collection online. The kit includes: Dolly-inspired, collectible tea towel and spatula and recipe cards. It can be purchased online starting on February 8 and it will sell for $40.
Given that this partnership is just at its beginning, it will be interesting to see the next items launched. Overall, the line has a Southern food slant. That idea was clear with the first offerings of Southern Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix and Banana Flavored Cake Mix. With the addition of brownies and biscuits, it seems likely that a cookie, or maybe a whoopie pie, could be the next addition. Only time will tell what people will be whipping up in the kitchen. For now, it is time to enjoy some sweet and savory treats from Duncan Hines and Dolly Parton.
