Delicious ways to celebrate Ice Cream for Breakfast Day
While grandma might have touted that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, breakfast food does not always have to be a bowl of cereal or some scrambled eggs. On Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, it is time to scoop up a sweet treat and indulge in a little extra fun on the first Saturday of February.
For those unfamiliar with the holiday, it started with one mom who brought a little levity to an otherwise typical Saturday. According to Days of the Year, Florence Rappaport scooped up some ice cream for breakfast to the delight of her kids. The idea kept going year after year. Now, many ice cream brands have jumped onto the concept.
Last year, Jeni’s churned a new ice cream flavor that was perfect for Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. The Maple Soaked Pancakes captured that stack of pancakes. From the salted butter to the real Vermont maple syrup, it was so popular that it sold out quickly.
This year, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is going even bigger for Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. In addition to bringing back the Maple Soaked Pancakes, various stores across the nation will be holding breakfast events. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the event runs through noon.
In addition to enjoying the various breakfast themed ice cream, like the Skillet Cinnamon Roll, guests can take PJ selfies, have a chance to win a special themed mug and much more.
While Jeni’s is hosting an event, there are other ways to celebrate the holiday at home. Why not add a scoop of ice cream to that cup of coffee, make a French Toast Ice cream sandwich, or come up with some other creative application of the food holiday.
Also, other ice cream brands are joining the Ice Cream for Breakfast fun. For example, Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Ice Cream’s has a new Breakfast Day collection. This year’s offering includes Ricotta Lemon Curd Pancake, Vegan Strawberry Crunch, Forbidden D’oh! Nut, and Mikey Likes It!
These ice cream flavors are definitely indulgent with a little bit of whimsy. While the pop culture references are clear, it is the creativity that has people coming back for more. From the coffee and donut combination to the “puppy chow” mix-in, these ice cream flavors will be remembered all day long.
Plus, Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Ice Cream ships its ice cream. For those ice cream lovers who have never had Clemintine’s 16% dairy base need to try that spoonful. It definitely captures that naughty and nice indulgence.
