The blocks are heading back to the cereal bowl. After the first successful Kellogg’s food partnership, the new Frosted Flakes Minecraft cereal is heading to store shelves. Ready to stack a flavorful breakfast to start the day?

The new Frosted Flakes Minecraft cereal follows a previous Kellogg’s collaboration with Minecraft. Given the success of that offering, the brands knew that another cereal needed to hit the shelf. With this offering, both kids and adults will find it great.

According to Laura Newman, senior director of brand marketing at Kellogg Company, “Many Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes fans are gamers, and Tony made his streaming debut last summer, which is why we’re so excited to introduce another flavorful gaming-inspired experience with this new Minecraft collaboration.”

The Frosted Flakes Minecraft cereal will feature “Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes and green squares of ‘Creeper Bit’ marshmallows.” Based on that flavor combination, the cereal will be on the sweet side. The resulting cereal milk might be the real treat to enjoy at the breakfast table. A sweet marshmallow milk could be a game changer.

Although kids will beg parents to buy a box, it is interesting that Kellogg’s decided to bring Minecraft back with one of its infamous characters, Tony the Tiger. That type of cross-over offering expands the fan base. Even if cereal fans and gamers overlap, there could be a new audience that will be drawn to this special offering.

It is interesting that Kellogg’s decided to add another element to its Frosted Flakes cereal. In previous new flavors, the change occurred on the flake, not in addition to the cereal. Given this product launch, it will be curious to see if future limited-edition flavors will be added to the cereal. Could some spooky marshmallows come at Halloween or some festive holiday addition cap off the year?

The new Frosted Flakes Minecraft cereal will be available in April. The suggested retail price will be $5.29 for an 8.4-ounce box and $6.49 for a 13.5-ounce box. Check with participating retailers for availability and pricing.
