Although the cooks continue to have difficulty with the platform, it is time for them to showcase their food knowledge. Beyond properly executing a dish, Next Level Chef Season 2 episode 7 has the cooks dive deep into their culinary creativity. Is this the fish pairing that more people should try?

According to FOX, Next Level Chef Season 2 episode 7, “Here Fishy, Fishy” features the following:

"This will be the challenge that takes the competition to the next level. Chefs are alarmed when they learn the ins and outs of what it takes to make a next level fish dish. And, for the first time ever, when the platform comes down, it will not be stopping. Who will sink and who will swim in the all-new “Here Fishy, Fishy” episode of Next Level Chef airing Thursday, March 23 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

Although everyone will have to watch to see which fish options are on the platform, these cooks need to impress not only with perfect cookery but with creative flavors. Even if the platform does not yield the perfect combination of ingredients, these dishes better stop being safe and start being great.

In this exclusive Next Level Chef Season 2 episode 7 clip provided by FOX, Gordon Ramsay offers words that would make any cook feel proud.

For most home cooks, they would never think to put vanilla on fish. While Gordon Ramsay references his time with Guy Savoy, there are various fish dishes that use vanilla. It needs to be subtle, but it can be a flavor that will have people taking notice. Although this dish is vanilla with seaweed and potato, vanilla and coriander can be quite delicious.

The most telling statement from this exclusive clip was Gordon’s reference to confidence. While some of the cooks have been skirting the middle, the winning dishes have come from those who were confident in the kitchen. Whether it is knowing that certain flavors pair well or appreciating that they will execute a particular technique, confidence might be the key to winning this food television title.

Which team will rise to the top and who will be thrown back? Be sure to watch Next Level Chef Season 2 episode 7 on FOX at 8 p.m. or stream the next day on Hulu.
