Pizza Hut Cheesesteak Pizza and Melts are a slice of flavor innovation
Some people never waiver from their classic pizza order. From the simple pepperoni to the always popular deluxe, those classic food offerings will always have a place on the table. For others, food innovation invites them to try something new, different, or creative. The new Pizza Hut Cheesesteak Pizza and Melts might be the hearty slice that people cannot resist.
In some ways, pizza can take on a variety of flavors. While there might be a few out of the box options, most ingredients can transform that dough in a variety of ways. Switching a sauce, cheese, or single topping can bring the flavor of another popular food to that pizza. It is one of the reasons why pizza is and always will be a favorite food for many people.
Steak on a pizza makes that flavor robust. Although there can be elevated flatbread options, a widely available option needs to be approachable. With the Pizza Hut Cheesesteak Pizza and Melts, the flavor borrows from that classic sandwich but makes it work on top of a dough. The whiz might not be part of the conversation, but that taste of familiar is apparent.
According to Lindsay Morgan, Chief Marketing Officer at Pizza Hut U.S., “With a history of bringing craveable food to consumers, our culinary team is always thinking of new and creative ways to expand our innovation pipeline. Using top-quality ingredients, these new Cheesesteak offerings deliver a unique taste profile with great value. Whether in our classic pizza form or the crispy handheld Melts, our new grilled sirloin steak is a must try.”
The Pizza Hut Cheesesteak Pizza features “sirloin steak strips, alfredo sauce, green bell peppers, onion, and topped with parmesan oregano.” While guests can choose their preferred crust, it might be better to let the ingredients shine and pair it with the traditional hand-tossed.
It is interesting that Pizza Hut is using an alfredo sauce instead of a nod to that whiz. But, that cheese flavor might not be as easy to adapt onto a slice. In addition, it might be better to have a more approachable combination, which would be the alfredo sauce with the other toppings.
Thinking about this pizza option, it might be nice to pair it with a simple salad. The cheesesteak option could be a hearty, robust flavor. Having a little brightness from a salad could offer some balance.
Also, the Pizza Hut Cheesesteak Melts captures the meltiness that people think about with a cheesesteak. The sirloin steak strips with toppings and melted cheese might be that hearty bite that will satisfy even the biggest appetites. Plus, the contrast of the crispy crust with the butter and parmesan oregano seasoning makes for enjoyable eating.
Some people may want to dip it in ranch sauce and others might prefer to eat it on its own. No matter the preference, this Melt is definitely a big meal.
The new Pizza Hut Cheesesteak Pizza and Melts will be available starting on May 2. The pizza is available in medium and large sizes. The starting price is $13.99. The Melts have a starting price of $6.99. Check with local restaurants for pricing and availability.
