While some people might be sipping on Blue Milk or choosing to head to Disney Parks to enjoy a trip to Galaxy’s Edge, other Star Wars fans might prefer to sip a little stronger beverage. These May the Fourth cocktails will shake up a flavorful trip to a galaxy far, far away.

Sometimes a favorite cocktail can take a Star Wars twist. Whether it is the color, the flavor, or something else, the intention can have it take on another theme.

Recently, some popular cocktails from “Sammy Hagar’s Cocktail Hits” and Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum have been giving a Star Wars makeover. Although the Red Rocker might not be quoting lines from the movies on the stage, these May the Fourth cocktails hit all the right notes for the occasion. Whether people pick based on character, color, or even flavor, there is one that will call to many Star Wars fans.

Jabba The Hutt’s Key Lime Martini aka The Key Lime Martini

Jabba The Hutt has a gluttonous nature. While that appetite might not always be satisfied, this special cocktail is the perfect ending to a May the Fourth meal. It is sweet, tart, and very rich. Skip the plated dessert and raise a glass of this dessert martini.

Jabba The Hutt’s Key Lime Martini aka The Key Lime Martini

Ingredients:

  • ½ ounce of Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum
  • 1 ½ ounces of Keke Key Lime Pie Cream Liqueur
  • ½ ounce of banana liqueur
  • ½ Cocó Lopez Cream of Coconut
  • ½ of fresh lime juice
  • Rim: honey and crushed graham cracker
  • Garnish: fresh lime wheel

Preparation:

  • Roll the rim of a chilled martini glass in some honey. Then gently roll the honey rim in crushed graham cracker and set the glass aside. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the rum, Keke Key Lime Pie Cream Liqueur, banana liqueur, cream of coconut and lime juice. Shake well and strain into a prepared glass. Garnish with a fresh lime wheel and serve.

The Jawa Roast aka Red Head Roast

While the Star Wars world might have some unusual food and beverage choices, one thing transcends the time and space, caffeine. Whether it is fixing a droid or fighting those Storm Troppers, high energy levels are vital. With this coffee forward cocktail, the force will get focused.

The Jawa Roast aka Red Head Roast

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ ounces Sammy’s Redhead Rum
  • ½ ounce Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 ½ ounces iced coffee
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • ¾ ounce cream
  • Garnish: freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon

Preparation:

  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the rum, liquor, iced coffee, simple syrup, and cream. Shake well and strain into a chilled rocks glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon.

The Rebel Princess aka Sammy’s Coconut Mojito

Sometimes looks can be deceiving, like this cocktail. On the surface, the cocktail is pretty, enticing, but after that first sip, it packs a big punch. Just like the women in the Star Wars franchise, they might be stunning, but they are fierce.

The Rebel Princess aka Sammy’s Coconut Mojito

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • ½ ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ½ ounces of Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum
  • 2 ounces coconut water
  • 1 ½ ounces Cocó Lopez Cream of Coconut
  • 1 ounce soda water
  • Rim: coconut cream and toasted coconut flakes
  • Garnish: fresh mint sprig

Preparation:

  • Dip the rim of a rocks glass in some coconut cream then roll the moistened rim in toasted coconut flakes. In a prepared glass, add the mint leaves, brown sugar, and lime juice. Using a muddler, gently (yet firmly) muddle the ingredients. Then fill with ice and add the rum, coconut water, and coconut cream. Stir well and top with soda water. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
