New limited-edition Slurpee flavors help cool off from summer’s heat
As temperatures soar, everyone is looking for a way to beat the heat. Even though 7-11 Day is a little further away, people’s thirst cannot wait to be quenched. Luckily these new limited-edition Slurpee flavors are waiting to be sipped.
After the recent Slurpee brand makeover, there is a renewed interest in that iconic beverage. Although it might have never gone out of style, the reality is that a little glow-up is good for everyone. It is a reminder why people have gone out of their way for that icy cold beverage.
Just in time for the summer heatwave, there are three new limited-edition Slurpee flavors, Summertime Citrus, Sprite Lymonade Legacy and Hibiscus Lemonade. Looking the options, they represent a combination of food trends and a nod to nostalgic flavors.
Dennis Phelps, 7-Eleven’s Senior Vice President Merchandising, Vault & Proprietary Beverages said, “Whether it’s a Hibiscus Lemonade paired with Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels or the Summertime Citrus with the Dill Pickle Pretzels, these flavors are as bold and unique as they are delicious!”
The Summertime Citrus is a combination of mandarin orange and ruby red grapefruit. Both sweet and tart, the flavor can help quench that thirst. The tartness leads to another sip while the sweetness satisfies.
The Sprite Lymonade Legacy brings the classic beverage lemon lime flavor with a little twist. With the addition of the lemonade and strawberry, the beverage feels zesty. Whether paired with one of those new Seven Select Pretzels or a slice of pizza, it is a flavor that seems to go with all types of food.
Lastly, the Hibiscus Lemonade has a lovely floral note. Although not a tea, that slightly earthy flavor with the traditional lemonade is both vibrant in color and flavor.
The Summertime Citrus is available now and the other two flavors will be available starting June 28. All of the flavors will be available during the 7-Eleven free Slurpee days.
