While July might be Ice Cream Month, National Ice Cream Day celebrations cannot be beat. From classic frozen treats to boozy infused delights, there are plenty of food options on the table.

Established by President Reagan, National Ice Cream Day is July 16. While people can have their favorite ice cream flavor, preferred topping or even eating method, the reality is that most people are screaming for more ice cream.

From dairy alternatives to a healthy eating slant, the freezer space is overflowing with choices. Even savory ice cream has come to the bowl. Whether it is a love that began in childhood or an appreciation that developed later in life, there is always room for another scoopful.

National Ice Cream Day celebrations bring extra sweetness

The Harry Potter New York Store

It might not have the selection of Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour, the Harry Potter New York Store is offering free Butterbeer ice cream on Sunday, July 16. The event will begin at 11 a.m. ET and the truck will move around throughout the day.

For anyone who has had the pleasure of eating the Butterbeer ice cream, it is a lovely butterscotch-inspired treat. No need to wave a magic wand for this scoop to appear. Muggles just need to be in the right place to get that frozen delight.

Serendipity3 All About the Benjamins $100 Sundae

While Serendipity3 has numerous over the top, expensive dishes on its menu, this special offering for National Ice Cream Day leans into its playful side. In addition to being topped with edible $100 bills, the sundae features 12 scoops of ice cream. All the frozen sweetness is topped with more goodness. From peanut butter to chocolate to even a green glittered whipped cream, it is definitely breaking the back.

And, year, the All About the Benjamins $100 Sundae is $100. Maybe a group can split the bill for this National Ice Cream Day.

Klondike

Their question turned into a jingle is an iconic phrase in food lore. On July 16, Klondike will be in Union Plaza in New York City giving away frozen treats.

Recently, the ice cream brand partnered with Joel McHale to ask which hometown has that ice cream spirit. It is the opportunity for one lucky location to put their town on the map.

KIND

Some people might prefer a non-dairy treat to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. KIND Frozen Bars will be giving away a year’s supply of KIND Frozen Bars. More information can be found on the brand’s Instagram account.

Van Leeuwen

Never a stranger to creative ice cream flavors, Van Leeuwen is shipping its favorite ice cream sandwiches nationwide. From that honeycomb caramel to the double chocolate cheesecake, there is a flavor for everyone.

Also, the brand will be giving away free ice cream on July 18 from 4-6 p.m. in SoHo. Harkening back to its ice cream truck roots, it is a celebration of the past, present and future of the brand.
