Disney Parks go all in on its 2023 Dole Whip Day celebration

July 20 is National Dole Whip Day. For those people lucky enough to be close to Disney Parks, that delectable frozen treat can be enjoyed while waving to Mickey and his friends. Even though Dole has shared various recipes that can be made at home, that first spoonful surrounded by Disney magic just hits differently. For the 2023 Dole Whip Day celebration, it might be time to enjoy one of the special flavors that are on the menu.

While the original Dole Whip might be best enjoyed outside the Enchanted Tiki Room, the classic frozen dessert is only one of the many options to enjoy. In a recent Disney publication, there are over 20 locations across Disney Parks, Disney Springs, Disney Resorts, and Disney Cruise Line where people can enjoy a version of the Dole Whip.

Although it is impossible to enjoy all the treats, a few of the special offerings are a must try, either for the 2023 Dole Whip Day celebration or during an upcoming visit. As seen across the Disney food menus and special events, the Disney chefs have become more adventurous. From embracing food trends to celebrating cultural influences, the offerings are approachable.

Currently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Ember’s Fiery Float celebrated international flavors and bold spices. The Dole Whip mango has a Chamoy-mango puree and a chili-lime seasoning. The balance of the sweet pineapple juice and red bubble sugar offsets the spiciness. On a hot Florida day, this option is delightfully refreshing.

For a complete dessert option, the Rapunzel Sundae available at Storybook Treats within Magic Kingdom, the Dole whip lemon and wild berry tops a shortcake. Combined with berry compote and sugar flowers, it blooms with a stunning visual and flavor.

While the frozen treat is always a favorite, Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers a Dole Whip Cupcake. For those days where you prefer something less chilly, this dessert is a must. The pineapple mousse is a luscious flavor that should not be missed.

Continuing the combo dessert concept, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has a great option that brings together two classics. Pineapple Upside Down Cone combines vanilla cake, caramelized pineapple, vanilla soft-serve and Dole Whip. After all that water-filled fun, it is the perfect end of day treat.

Lastly, Disney Springs has a wide array of Dole Whip options. From cocktails to desserts, it can be hard to pick a favorite.

As part of the Flavors of Florida event, Wine Bar George is offering a Frozen Old Fashioned made with DOLE Whip Orange. Whether it is a leisurely afternoon staring at the lake or a sweet night cap after fireworks, this specialty cocktail is a highlight of the special food event.
