Put the spirit in the seasoning with Sazerac Spirits Weber Seasoning Blends
As any grill master can explain, the flavor imparted by the heat from the grill is even more enjoyable when a robust seasoning joins the conversation. Even though the simplicity of salt and pepper will always be within reach, a robust spice blend can ignite a more enjoyable eating experience. With the new Sazerac Spirits Weber Seasoning Blends, the liquor shelf inspired a new choice that might shake up a creative food and beverage pairing.
Creating a spice blend might seem like a dash of this and a sprinkle of that. Although some chefs might make the process seem effortless, there are many years of trial and error that have gone into that final product.
For home cooks, trusted food brands can simplify the process. With experts behind the offering, it can be easy to grab a bottle and sprinkle. The guarantee of a perfectly executed dish can still require a careful eye, but it is a step in the right direction.
With the new Sazerac Spirits Weber Seasoning Blends, the flavor inspiration comes from popular spirits under the Sazerac line. They include Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, Buffalo Trace Bourbon and Southern Comfort Whiskey. While there is no alcohol in these seasoning blends, they do capture some of the essence from the popular liquors.
Speaking to this collaboration, Bryan Rakowski, Brand Portfolio Vice President at Sazerac said, “From cooking, to grilling, and even cocktail preparation, there are now even more ways for our fans to enjoy and experiment with the taste profiles of their favorite spirits. We’re excited to share the recipes B&G Foods has developed and can’t wait to see what consumers come up with, too.”
The telling part of that statement is for cooks to think beyond the protein or food on the grill for uses of these seasoning blends. Why not use one of the options as a garnish on the rim of a cocktail glass or consider a sprinkle as another component in a Bloody Mary. Food in the pantry does not have to be limited to just one avenue.
Looking at the three spice blends, there are flavor components that people will expect. The Fireball Cinnamon Whisky will have that warm, tingly spice. When thinking about that cinnamon, it might be a way to round out the flavors in a pork rub or even a beer can chicken.
As cooks experiment with these seasoning blends, it might encourage them to step behind the bar as well. Why not pour an Old Fashioned and see how the citrus notes can bring some brightness to the food from the grill. Or, complement that Bourbon Smash with a light, seasonal vegetable pasta salad. The options are many.
The new spice blends, Sazerac Spirits Weber Seasoning Blends, will be available in Kroger stores later this month. In addition, Buffalo Trace Whiskey Flavored Weber Seasoning will have a 9 oz Sam’s Club exclusive offering.
