While Taco Bell and MTN DEW BAJA BLAST have a long, storied history, the two iconic food brands are sending summer off with a burst of sweetness. The new, limited offering MTN DEW BAJA BLAST Gelato is coming to one location and everyone will be running to get that first scoop.

Taco Bell might be known for its bold, creative and flavorful quick service offerings, but dessert is not often the first topic to come to mind. While many people grab that taco 10-pack to enjoy with friends or have sung the praises of the Mexican Pizza, the Cinnamon Twists and Cinnabon Delights might not always be in the bag.

Sometimes, the sweet ending to the meal comes in the form of a beverage. Over the years, the various Freeze flavors have combined favorite beverage brands with a chillier consistency. Even MTN DEW BAJA BLAST has joined that sipping conversation.

With the new MTN DEW BAJA BLAST Gelato, Taco Bell takes a big step forward into the dessert world. Although another QSR brand has its infamous frozen dessert and much can be said about another option that can sometimes be broken, no one has scoped a gelato offering.

Speaking to the special dessert, Liz Matthews, Global Chief Food Innovation Officer at Taco Bell said, “This is the first time we are releasing a gelato and we are so excited to hear how fans enjoy the sweet and creamy indulgence BAJA BLAST is iconic to Taco Bell and has its own strong fandom, so introducing it in gelato form feels right. As the end of summer nears, this is the perfect treat to wrap up any Taco Bell meal.”

While many people would be running to get that first taste, the special dessert has a very limited availability. It is available only at a one Irvine, CA restaurant, specifically, 4101 Campus Drive, Irvine, CA 92612 location. The gelato is available starting on August 31 for two weeks, or while supplies last.

Without having taste test this particular offering, guests should expect a creamy mouth feel, which is characteristic of gelato. More importantly, the bright, zesty BAJA BLAST flavors should be front and center. In some ways, those citrus notes should help keep the dessert light and refreshing.

While it seems likely that this special, limited time offering will be a huge hit, many people will have their fingers crossed that a larger rollout will happen in the future. It might not be until next summer, but people will be counting the days till they can end their Taco Bell meal with MTN DEW BAJA BLAST Gelato.
