Disney Treasure theme dining experiences inspired by classic attractions

On board the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, guests will dive into the mythical depths of uncharted oceans at the Periscope Pub. Serving as Disney Cruise Line’s first venue inspired by the spellbinding adventure of Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the legacy Disney Parks attraction, the submarine-styled interiors will give guests a look at the watery world below through an intriguing glass ceiling.

While many people wish upon a star for the opportunity to travel on Disney Cruises, the Disney Treasure opens a bounty of experiences that will immerse guests into a fantastical world. With the Disney Treasure theme dining experiences, classic attractions, favorite movies, and iconic tales inspire the newest offerings.

Stepping onboard a Disney Cruise ship comes with certain expectations. Beyond character meet and greets, Mickey themed food, and even a few fireworks along the way, the food and dining experiences are more than a chair at a table. From the décor to the menu, every element completes the overall story. It may not necessarily be the same as stepping into that movie or jump off the page of a classic tale. At the same time, the story element infuses the vibe at each and every turn.

The new Disney Treasure theme dining experiences blend both the past and the present. In a recent announcement, Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line, said, “The Disney Treasure will bring brand-new stories to life, blending one-of-a-kind experiences with the extraordinary entertainment, world-class dining and unparalleled hospitality that make every sailing so memorable. As we chart a course for adventure, we’re so excited for families to discover the excitement and exploration that awaits onboard the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.”

Three Disney Treasure theme dining experiences will quickly become favorites

While Disney Cruise ships have always put themed dining front and center, the Disney Treasure theme dining seems to take the conversation in a different direction. For example, the Skipper Society borrows from the iconic Jungle Cruise. Although it is unknown whether guests will see the backside of water, many hope that the mixologists will have a few punny moments with guests.

From the playful monkey-shaped chandelier to the luggage tags throughout the venue, there are many references to the favorite ride. Even if animals might be not roaming the space, the vibe feels as if the skippers had a hand in the décor.

More importantly, the themed cocktails and the light bites will be the perfect fare for those weary travelers. Although Disney did not reveal menus, it can be assumed that at least one tiki themed cocktail would be on the menu.

Another Disney Treasure theme dining experience borrows from a classic attraction and iconic tale. Periscope Pub is inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Although some guests might not remember that iconic attraction, others will be searching for that giant squid.

The submarine inspired locale will feel more like a pub than a dark plunge into the ocean’s depths. Featuring a wide array of craft brews and light bites, this locale will be a great escape and a gem to discover.

Disney Treasure theme dining Zootopia
Onboard the Disney Treasure, the sweetshop, Jumbeaux’s Sweets, will be reminiscent of the popular ice cream parlor, Jumbeaux Café, from the bustling mammal metropolis featured in Disney’s “Zootopia.” Surrounded by playful pink interiors, Victorian-style architecture and an endearing sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, guests will be served humor and heart by the cone full., along with a selection of more than 20 flavors of handmade gelato, 16 flavors of ice cream and sorbets, specialty treats, candies and more. For a more vibrant Disney theme dining experience, the Jumbeaux’s Sweets is a nod to Jumbeaux Café from Zootopia. The bold, colorful design will captivate guests as much as the desserts on display. With an abundant selection of gelato, ice cream, and other sweets, this dining area will be a favorite with the younger guests.

These Disney Treasure theme dining experiences will join other options including Plaza de Coco dining experience as well walk-up cafes Heihei Café and Jade Cricket Café. In addition, classic options like 1923 for families and adult-forward choices The Rose, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallament join the line-up.

Disney Treasure will its inaugural voyage on December 21 2024. The inaugural season will feature inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Its home port will be Port Canaveral, Florida.
