Food Network announces The Elf on the Shelf Sweet Showdown premiere date
As everyone starts to hum those classic carols, another holiday tradition is getting a twist. With the new Food Network holiday show, The Elf on the Shelf Sweet Showdown, the dessert competition will inspire many people to start baking. With a little mischief mixed it, the food and fun bring a big dose of holiday cheer.
The Elf on the Shelf Sweet Showdown brings together Duff Goldman, Kardea Brown and Ashley Holt to give their commentary on the weekly competition. As new teams arrive to tackle each episode challenge, the confectionery creations not only bring the holiday spirit but showcase the immense talent on that Food Network stage.
According to Duff Goldman, “The Elf on the Shelf Sweet Showdown is unlike anything you’ve seen before! Every episode is full of top-notch desserts, each telling a story about the Scout Elves, and, in order to win, the teams must go bold, take risks, show off their holiday spirit, and be imaginative with surprises in every dessert they make.”
Whether or not families adapt some of these ideas into their own Elf on the Shelf mischief remains to be seen. But, the concepts get to the heart of what the holiday season should be. It is a time to let the magic take over, enjoy time together, and indulge in a little taste of sweetness when it is presented.
Looking at some of the challenges, the bakers must think beyond the traditional approach. Each elf must have personality and stand out in the crowd. It is time to put aside the well-known or traditional concepts for something bigger, bolder, and more eye-catching.
Whether it is an elf-selfie backdrop or an Enchanted Cottage, Food Network viewers will be in awe of these creations. Although there is always a possibility that someone could get a little coal with their criticism, the reality is that the triumphs are always more plentiful than the fails, especially during the holidays.
Food Network’s The Elf on the Shelf Sweet Showdown premieres on Sunday, November 19 at 8pm ET/PT. The finale will air on Sunday, December 17 at 8pm ET/PT. The winning team will earn $25,000 and the title The Ambassadors of Confectionery Concoctions.
