Soaring above the clouds has a new flavor to fuel that travel experience. In a recent announcement, Alaska Airlines revealed a custom blend from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. From early mornings to late night, that warm, tantalizing brew got a whole lot tastier.

Airline travel might not always be described as flying the friendly skies. From airport delays to dealing with fellow passengers, some people long for just a moment where they can sit, put in those earbuds, pull down the tray table, and just sip on a good beverage. It might not necessarily be a huge ask for the person behind to avoid kicking the seat or hoping that a seat mate does not snore. But, when the beverage satisfies just a little more, all those small quips can fade into the background.

As a leading West Coast airline, Alaska Airlines has long supported businesses that align with its commitment to do better. From its inflight recycling to reducing plastics on board, the transportation company understands that it has a responsibility to do better.

With the recent partnership with Stumptown Coffee Roasters, it is more than just providing one of the best coffees around. The coffee company always brews a sustainable conversation with all its offerings.

While the purpose behind the partnership is important, fliers are most concerned about the coffee flavor in the cup. As many travelers appreciate, food and beverages soaring above the ground often tastes different than the food at the home table. Taking that sentiment into account, this specialty blend should satisfy a wide range of guests. Much care, testing, and consideration was taken to ensure that every coffee served brings flavor perfection.

Speaking to this new partnership, Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci said, “Having flown millions of miles fueled by countless cups of coffee, Stumptown stands out as first class. Like travel, coffee has a remarkable way of bringing people together. I can’t wait for our guests and employees to enjoy a cup of Stumptown when they fly with us.”

The signature Alaskan Airlines blend starts with Stumptown’s signature Holler Mountain. From there, the coffee adds a slightly mellow note to make the flavor widely approachable and balanced. With a hint of sweetness from a toasted marshmallow quality, the brown butter notes bring nuttiness. Balanced with some citrus for brightness, the coffee is equally delightful enjoyed black or with a creamer or oat milk.

The Alaska Airlines specialty brew from Stumptown Coffee Roasters will start brewing December 1, 2023. It will be served both onboard and in the airline’s lounges.
