Liberty and Bell receive Thanksgiving White House Turkey Pardon
The time honored tradition of the White House Turkey Pardon is back ahead of Thanksgiving. This year, Liberty and Bell, will head to meet President Biden. After receiving their reprieve, the poultry pair will head off on a lifetime of service.
For the 76th year, the National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation has been part of the holiday. Even though many people present a Jennie-O turkey on their holiday table, these two special birds have taken a different path. Through their ambassador roles, they serve a bigger purpose. Sometimes that position might be more meaningful than a flavorful meal on the table.
As shared during the press conference reveal, Liberty and Bell have been raised to be in the spotlight. Even though they might prefer some Taylor Swift to a down home jig, the reality is that their journey to this moment has been carefully measured.
In turn, their Jennie-O turkey relatives have their own way of making the holiday special for everyone. The food brand is a name that people can trust. Whether it is a helping hand to ensure a well-executed meal or a way to support the community by giving back, people trust the Jennie-O name.
Earlier this month, Jennie-O showcased its commitment to help local communities. Earning the Guinness World Record for Largest Donation of Turkeys in 24 Hours, the food brand donated 5,000 turkeys in collaboration with NBC’s TODAY.
While everyone favorite weatherman, Al Roker, assisted in presenting these turkeys to Feeding America in New York and Chicago, the moment is more than just a single momentous occasion. It is a reminder that brands can and should use the holiday season as a time to make a connection and help those in need. Others might not be able to give away a huge number of turkeys, but they can make meaningful change in other ways. Big, small, and everything in between will make a difference.
This holiday season Jennie-O, Liberty and Bell wish everyone a happy holiday.
