While the FOX culinary show is a competition, Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 9 has a poignant moment. Although the chefs are under constant pressure and have a desire to open that final door, the drive to be the best is not an easy journey to take. In this exclusive clip from the episode, one chef breaks down due because she does not want to let anyone down.

According to FOX, Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 9, “More Bang For Your Buck,” features the following:

"The chefs are given a crash course in business as they learn it takes much more than heart to run a restaurant – it takes money. After revered chef and restaurateur Suzanne Goin rates the chefs’ dishes, it is time for dinner service, where multiple close calls leave a few chefs barely scraping by. Tonight’s dinner guests include actress Elodie Yung (“The Cleaning Lady”) and influencer Liza Koshy in all-new “More Bang For Your Buck” episode of Hell’s Kitchen airing Thursday, Nov. 30 (8:00 PM – 9:01 PM) on FOX. (HK-2209)"

Throughout Hell’s Kitchen there are many discussions on proper cooking techniques, execution, and communication in the kitchen. While all of these items are integral to being a great chef, the restaurant world is a business. If the most talented chef cannot keep the doors open, it does not matter if the food could earn three Michelin Stars. The lights have to be on for diners to be able to eat at that table.

Although one chef will earn a spot in the Gordon Ramsay empire, the other chefs will need to take the lessons learned in this competition and apply them. Understanding the restaurant business is an important lesson. After all, no one wants to have their restaurant mis-step show up on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Given the pressure of the Hell’s Kitchen experience, the chefs can sometimes buckle and have an emotional breakdown. In this exclusive clip from Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 9, one chef lets it all out.

As seen in the clip, Donya does not want to come up short for both her team and herself. While everyone appreciates that anyone can have a bad day in real life, a bad day in Hell’s Kitchen can have a chef see their chef coat go up in flames. Whether or not Donya has seen her last dinner service remains to be seen, but it is clear that she is willing to fight for every opportunity presented to her.

In turn, it is a nice change of pace to see Atoye show a nurturing side. After the previous episode’s meltdown, she is showing what it means to be a leader in Hell’s Kitchen. Helping others when they are down is just as important as cheering their triumphant.

How will it all play out on Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 8? Be sure to watch Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT or stream the next day on Hulu.
