New Taco Bell frozen drinks celebrate sweet Mexican flavors
Move over Baja Blast because the new Taco Bell frozen drinks have everyone embracing the chill. Highlighting Mexican flavors, these sweet, spicy sippers can tame the fiery flavor flames. Where can guests enjoy that first taste?
Taco Bell continues to push the food and flavor envelope. With new menu items revealed time and again, that Live Mas mantra seems to describe the abundance of food offerings available.
While Taco Bell has some frozen beverages on the menu, those items are fruit forward options. Filling a void in the sweet and coffee space, these new drinks are a first for the quick service restaurant brand.
Speaking to this beverage launch, Taco Bell U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery said, “We’re always pushing the boundaries to deliver bold and craveable Mexican-inspired flavors our fans have come to expect from us and these frozen drinks showcase how far our innovation goes. We are constantly listening to what our fans are craving next and we are thrilled to offer them a frozen creation that’s just as delicious and desirable as their favorite menu item.”
What are the new Taco Bell frozen beverages?
The two new Taco Bell frozen beverages are Coffee Chillers and Churro Chillers. Both offerings feature Mexican inspired flavors.
The Coffee Chillers are available in three flavors, Mexican Chocolate, Caramel Churro, and Spiced Vanilla. The blended iced coffee features a flavor swirl and a cold foam topping.
The Churro Chillers are more of a shake or dessert-like offering. The four flavors are Mexican Chocolate, Dulce de Leche Coffee, Wild Strawberry and Sweet Vanilla. Each offering includes churro crumbles and a cold foam topping.
Looking at these flavors, it will be interesting to see if the spice is more of a heat versus a warm, baking spice note. For example, Mexican Chocolate usually has more of a chili note versus a cinnamon. If Taco Bell brings a bold chili spice, it will be unlike other beverages in the QSR space. Many people might be running to get that first sip.
Thinking about the new Taco Bell frozen beverages, the quick service restaurant is choosing to be different from other brands. Even though there are many blended coffees and frozen sweet beverages on the market, it is the flavors that make these offerings unique. Leaning into Mexican flavors was a smart choice for the brand. Anyone can make a shake, but only Taco Bell can make one that is bold and stands out in the sea of sameness.
While these new Taco Bell frozen beverages will get people thirsty for that first sip, the launch is very limited. Only two Southern California locations will debut these offerings on December 15, 2023. Coffee Chillers will be available at 27770 Santa Margarita Pkwy, Mission Viejo, CA 92691 and Churro Chillers will be available at 2222 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine, CA 92606. Both beverages will be available all-day at the respective locations.
When could the new Taco Bell frozen beverages be available nationwide? No one can predict, but many people would like a sweet, chilly sip to join the menu in 2024.
