Using an Uber has become a constant in many people’s lives. Whether it is a quick ride to work or heading to dinner while on vacation, convenient transportation is ingrained into the day. While Uber is a constant part of people’s lives, riders can be forgetful. The 2025 Lost and Found Index proves people are not always on top of their belongings.
The annual Uber Lost and Found Index always gets people’s attention. While there have been plenty of lost sunglasses, hats, and other common items, it is the unusual things that have people scratching their heads. How someone puts two mattresses in an Uber and forgets them might be unfathomable, but it did happen. Too bad Uber did not get this user to comment on the circumstances behind this scenario.
According to the 2025 Uber Lost and Found Index, a few of the 50 most unusual items are:
Ghostbusters ghost trap
Urinal
Hoverboard and a mini fridge
Traffic cone
Divorce papers
Harry Potter wand
2 mattresses
Aquarium
Bouquet of 100 red roses
A few of these items seem to make sense. Leaving that Harry Potter wand behind after a long day at Epic Universe can happen. The spell to get it back might be a little complicated, but there is always a chance that the wand will find its wizard.
Leaving some of the other items behind is quite problematic. More importantly, who brings a urinal in an Uber.
As for the 100 red roses, everyone can hope that there is a happy ending to this romance gone wrong. Like every good Hallmark movie, there needs to be a happily ever after.
What is the big takeaway from this year’s findings? Some trends continue. Red items are lost more frequently than other colored items. It is unclear if there are just more red items or people are just more attached to that yellow boa versus a red one. Bigger cities tend to be more forgetful, too. Overall, people just need to be a little more thoughtful when they are traveling.
More importantly, things that might get left behind in an Uber can be returned. Check out the app for how to submit a request to find the items. Unlike items left at the TSA, these left behind treasures can find their way back.
