As Disney fans eat every dish, cheer for the parade, and celebrate Disneyland 70, the magical moments within the theme park do not fly away on a warm breeze. Throughout the City of Anaheim, there are plenty of locations that are celebrating along the iconic theme park.

Many people enjoy spending every waking hour at Disney Parks. From rope drop till the last firework disappears across the night sky, guests soak up every moment.

At the same time, the city surrounding the gate always has a plethora of activities and adventures waiting for visitors. From stunning resorts to flavorful food, a trip to the area deserves a few extra days to explore all the option.

Recently, Gavin Doyle of Mickey Visit shared some of his suggestions on some of his favorite places to visit in and around Anaheim, California. Since Disneyland 70 is such a big celebration, other businesses believe that there will be a bump.

Doyle said, “the Disneyland 70th Celebration is expected to drive additional tourism to the City of Anaheim. While the parks will be the main attraction, the celebration also presents a chance for visitors to explore more of the city. Local restaurants are joining in the festivities with special Disney-inspired menu items, extending the magic beyond the resort and giving guests even more reasons to explore Anaheim.”

Throughout the area, there are many resorts and properties that make it convenient to visit the city as well as the theme parks. Doyle suggested that visitors focus on certain categories, like affordable options or location to narrow down the options. Guests need to focus on what is a priority for them.

From proximity to price, there is an option for everyone. Major hotel brands like Marriott, Westin, and others are conveniently located and offer a variety of room rates.

Since it can be beneficial to space out visits to Disneyland alongside with spending time at other attractions within Anaheim, a whole vacation experience is more than just a couple of days. Doyle recommends three days at Disneyland with a day or two buffer to explore Anaheim.

Even though Disneyland is a signature destination within Anaheim, there are other places to visit within the city. Doyle recommends the Anaheim Packing District. The converted Sunkist citrus packing building has been converted into a vibrant food hall. The space includes a variety of restaurants and shops.

The food scene offers tremendous variety in the area. From a sit-down dinner at En Familia to the gigantic sandwiches at The Kroft, there is something that satisfies everyone’s cravings.

For people planning that next Disneyland vacation for the 70th celebration, consider adding a few extra days to visit Anaheim, itself. The California city has a lot to offer.
