While Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch will never go out of style, Doritos appreciates that specialty flavors breathe new life into the classic snack chip. The new Doritos Golden Sriracha captures the flavor complexity of popular condiment.

From a topping on ramen, burgers, or even just eggs, sriracha has become a staple on many people’s tables. Unlike other condiments or sauces, this particular food hits all the flavors. Spicy with salty and sweet with sour, these flavors combined with a punch of umami makes it go with almost anything.

Over the years, Doritos has delved into a wide array of food trends. From extreme spice to global inspiration, that triangle shaped chip provided to be multi-flavor dimensional.

Speaking about the snack brand’s willingness to expand its line-up, Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing at PepsiCo Foods North America said, “By keeping our finger on the pulse of trending and fan-favorite flavors, Doritos has developed a flair for putting an unexpected spin on beloved flavor profiles and elevating them to new heights. Doritos Golden Sriracha opens the door to an entirely new flavor that accomplishes a lofty task: putting a bold twist on Gen Z’s favorite hot sauce. We’re excited to introduce loyal snackers, esteemed foodies and everyone in between to the Doritos version of Sriracha – I have a feeling this new flavor will secure a permanent spot in fans’ pantries alongside their go-to bottle of Sriracha sauce.”

Recently, I had the opportunity to try the new Doritos Golden Sriracha. The color does capture the name. Although there is not necessarily a sparkle, the hue has a brightness that stands out in the bold. Luckily, no one will worry about neon colored fingers when eating this snack.

More importantly, the flavor is intriguing. Unlike other spicy chips, the heat does not hit initially. It is a slow burn that builds. As the tingle appears on the tongue, it lingers long after the chip is gone. Without turning into an inferno, it is warm, engaging, and leaves you wanting more.

Overall, the Golden Sriracha flavor is quite tasty. Given that it is spicy but not extreme, it has a variety of pairings that would work well. Crumbling some of the chips on a Korean Taco would be delicious. Also, a crunchy topping for noodles or ramen would be delicious, too.

For more standard fare, it is a great choice to pair with a classic burger or even a classic BLT. The Doritos Golden Sriracha is a versatile flavor.

The new Doritos snack will be hitting stores this month and will be available at Snacks.com. Check with retailers for availability and pricing.
