Certain beers capture a sentiment better than others. When it is time to connect with the cosmos, Elysian’s Space Dust Series are those beers. The third IPA to join the line, Phaze Dust, propels forward a sweetness note with a curious hop choice.
When the Elysian brewers launch a new offering, the choice comes with much consideration. While they are masterminds of the hops, malts, and mixes, the reality is all that creativity can launch them into a different zone. Finding ways to find a common connection within a specific segment is vital to the brand’s success.
While everyone knows Elysian as the king of pumpkin beers, its Space Dust Series is equally as impressive. That hoppy, cosmic IPA has become many people’s favorite beer. Whether drunk as a toast on launch day or paired with a Sunday supper, the flavorful beer works well on its own and with food.
Previously, Elysian launched Juice Dust. That beer captures the fruity, juiciness that the name suggests. A tropical and citrus forward flavor, it feels a like a vacation in a glass. While refreshing on its own, it works well in a hoptail. Combining that orange forward flavor with some Aperol is quite delicious.
With the new Phaze Dust, Elysian Brewing enters a new era with both flavor and hops. The fruit flavors in this beer are more sweet. The peach feels more dessert like and even the mango tastes a little more sugary. In a way, those flavors feel a touch whimsical, playful. Maybe, the brewers are getting in touch with their juvenile side.

The Phaze Dust uses the core hops from the series and enhances them with locally grown Luminosa hops. While that name conjures images of a wizard’s world, the Oregon grown hops shine a light in new flavors. It infuses a unique character to the beer. The flavor does not hit immediately but it leaves a blazing trail that creates a craving for another sip.
Since there is a peachy note to Phaze Dust, it works well with a pork roast or some smoky barbecue. That char from the grill with the hoppy and sugar creates a lovely balanced food and beverage pairing. Even if there is a little spice, it will stand up to that boldness. This new beer could be the summer grilling must have.
Phaze Dust is part of the Space Dust Series. It is available in the variety pack nationwide. Additionally, there will be some offerings available in warehouse stores.
