Move over burgers and chicken sandwiches, Home Chef wants cooks to turn on the oven this summer. In partnership with Grillo’s, the Pickle Pizza is here to become the must have food for pizza night.

Pizza toppings can be controversial. While everyone knows that a delicious dough is the vehicle to delivering the best flavor, no one wants a plain bread. Whether the pie is topped with copious amounts of meat, has a handful of veggies, or goes rogue with some ham and pineapple, the reality is that toppings make the slice. People can debate the best, worst, or most unusual combinations. Truthfully, there is no bad pizza; some options are just better.

With the new Home Chef Pickle Pizza in partnership with Grillo’s, the popular Kroger Family of Stores brand offers its take on the briny bite. Although Ann Kim might have made this pizza idea popular, this Home Chef version is less pickle and more total topping experience.

According to Home Chef, the Pickle Pizza features Grillo’s hot pickle chips, pulled pork, red onions, mozzarella cheese, and a creamy BBQ sauce. Looking at the ingredients, this concept is more like a barbecue style pizza versus a simple pie with some pickles and a sauce. For people who love pickles on a barbecue pork sandwich, this item will be a top choice.

More importantly, it is important that Home Chef uses Grillo’s hot pickle chips. Of course, no one would think to put a spear or whole pickle on a pizza. The chip shape ensures that more bites have that flavor bomb punch.

Second, the hot style is equally as important. Given that people are drawn to spicier, bolder flavors, this pickle can stand up to the creamy mozzarella as well as the BBQ sauce. If there is going to be a pickle on a dish, it should not be overshadowed.

Home Chef continually evolves its food offerings to keep up with current trends. In addition to the Pickle Pizza, the company updated its Classic Seasoned Fresh Roasted Chicken recipe.

By amplifying the herbs, lemon, and Dijon mustard, the simple bone-in chicken becomes the centerpiece of any meal. Whether served with a roasted potato, steamed vegetable, or even just rice, the classic protein hits that “newstalgia” vibe. There is a sense of classic comfort food without being boring.

The Home Chef Pickle Pizza is a take and bake option. It has a suggested retail price of $7.99 and cooks in approximately 16 minutes.

The Classic Seasoned Fresh Roasted Chicken is available both cold and hot. It can be found in the deli section of Kroger stores. The suggested retail price is $7.99.
