The Flavor of the Month program has proven to be quite successful for IHOP. Starting with the Chocolate Strawberry Pancakes in February, the flavors captured a special event of each month or a seasonal flavor. The rich Chocolate Strawberry Pancakes brought together classic romantic vibes while still being approachable to all ages.
Other flavors captured bright summer vibes, cozy fall flavors and everything in between. While the classic buttermilk short stack will always be on the menu, the special monthly offerings enticed guests to place another food order.
Although IHOP did not mention, it would be curious to know which monthly flavor was the most popular. Those food findings could influence bigger menu changes. Only time will tell if one of the limited time offerings would become a permanent menu item.
To kick off the second year of this menu program, the 2025 January Flavor of the Month is Snickerdoodle. Even though people might have had their fill of holiday cookies, this flavor is a good choice for the wintry backdrop.
The snickerdoodle snack features a stack of pancakes, topped with cinnamon sugar, cream cheese icing and whipped topping. It would be nice to have a little more cinnamon flavor, but the reference to the cookie is clear.
Adding the cream cheese icing offers some tanginess. It is smart to contrast all the other sweet notes.
