To kick off a summer of fun, Corona partnered with entertainer Leo Gonzalez to highlight Corona Sunbrew. After Sunbrew’s successful regional launch, the offering is rolling out nationally. To kick off the celebration, the SunYSpeakeasy will shine a light on the flavor and the vibe that the beer conveys.

Ahead of the special SunYSpeakeasy event, Leo spoke with FoodSided about his personal connection with Corona, what people can expect from the event, and how he is enjoying being on the road with his comedy shows. Like many people, that iconic beer has been served at all types of memorable gatherings.
When asked about this connection to Corona, Leo said, “for me, it’s familiar. It is the beer that we serve at all the parties. My family always served it. Corona is iconic.”
With the Corona Sunbrew, the specialty beer just hits a little differently. Leo said, “it is like saving a step. I don’t have to cut those limes.”
Additionally, he feels like this beer applies to the younger generation. “I feels like it check off both boxes for the next generation. They appreciate a flavor forward beverage and they love the convenience. It is a great combination.”
For the upcoming SunYSpeakeasy, Leo said that the event is going to celebrate a sunny, festive vibe. Instead of sneaking through darkened walkways, finding the underground hidden spot, this Corona event features the fun, sun, and good times that people expect from the beer brand. Additionally, there will be plenty of Sunbrew to enjoy, too.
While this event will be quite a vibe, Leo chooses his brand partnerships carefully. Anyone who has watched him on social media appreciates that he celebrates his authentic self, even with his creative character portrayals.
Leo said, “I’ve been very intentional about everything. I want to partner with brands that I believe in, like and care about. In my content, I’ve been very intentional, including being family friendly. I like that the whole family can watch together and not have an issue with it. Being able to be myself has allowed me to have partnerships that are iconic and familiar.”
That authenticity is vital to his happiness. Leo said, “I’ve noticed that the further you go away from authenticity, the further you are away from your own happiness. I have these conversations with other creators. People can tell when you are talking about something that you do not know or care about.”
