Popular fast food chain McDonald's is about to make its menu even more enticing for frequent customers, and perhaps even lure back those who haven't gone in a while. Snack Wraps are back on the menu, boys (well, starting in July)!
The beloved wraps have often been praised as the ideal snack, a quick grab-and-go bite people can grab on their lunch breaks or to tide them over between meals.
According to CNBC, the move comes after the a slow start to the chain's 2025 sales year. On July 10, Snack Wraps will return to participating locations.
A brief history of the Snack Wrap
Launched in 2006, the Snack Wrap became incredibly popular, to the point that people have been baffled by its removal. But making the item caused too much of a slowdown in kitchens, leading to the franchise to remove it from the menu amid the COVID-19 pandemic, an era already rife with complications. To keep things running as efficiently as possible, McDonald's opted to take Snack Wraps, and a few other items, off the menu.
But people are always asking for the company to bring them back. There have been countless social media campaigns and online users petitioning McDonald's to bring them back. Check the comment history on almost any post from an official account and you'll see dozens of people lobbying for the delicious snack to become purchasable again.
Per CNBC, the decision to bring it back comes after the chain reported its United States sales declined 3.6% in the first quarter.
Spicy or ranch
The wraps will be made with one of McDonald's signature McCrispy Strips, which were launched across the country this past May. People can buy the wraps in one of two flavors: spicy or ranch.
In the past, McDonald's has offered more options, allowing customers to choose whether they want crispy or grilled chicken and a wider selection of flavors—in honey mustard, sweet chili, and more. I'm guessing that the simplified selection will allow McDonald's to get the best of both worlds, bringing back the menu item while also limiting prep time in the kitchen.
McDonald's is far from the only restaurant to cash in on the Snack Wrap trend and growing push for chicken-based menu items. Popeyes recently announced that they would be launching their own Chicken Wraps, utilizing special tortillas infused with their biscuit dough and offering different sauces, including honey mustard.
These wraps are already available at Popeyes, launching on June 2. The McDonald's Snack Wraps officially return on July 10.
