Nick Offerman, the actor and humorist, knows how a word, phrase, or even infection elicits a response. Before the soothing tones of his voice is heard, his appearance sets the tone. For him, facial hair says a lot about his persona and Pringles celebrates that concept in its Super Bowl LIX commercial.

As seen in the 2025 “Call of the Mustaches” Big Game commercial, Offerman joins with Adam Brody, James Harden, and Andy Reid, all who have legendary mustaches. While the concept is for fans to shake up their Pringles enjoyment, Offerman understands that changing the style and grooming methods of his facial hair can create a whole new outlook.

During a recent conversation prior to the commercial’s airing on Super Bowl Sunday, Nick Offerman gracious answered some questions. As his answers showed, he is never afraid to infuse some humor into his responses.

Specifically, when asked about his facial hair, he shared, “I'm really grateful that I have a good head of hair and a good face full of whiskers. They serve me well as a character actor and I love changing it up for every, every juicy part that I get. Whatever the next role is usually my favorite because in my mind, in my imagination, it still has the potential to be the best one yet. So, I'm very happy with a lot of the facial hair I've gotten to do, but where do you see this next one?”

After having a blast in last year’s Big Game commercial, this snacking moment is all about the mustache. Since he is a great actor and his facial hair is almost infamous, Offerman said that it was his mustache that took the lead in this decision.

Offerman said, “unlike last year, they actually negotiated with my mustache. Who has a better agent than me.  By the time I found out about it, my mustache had already signed the contract. I was just hired sort of like a stage mom to bring the mustache to and from the set. I was pretty thrilled about it and I'm a big fan of Pringles. Frankly, to be counted amongst this sort of this snacking mustache, Mount Rushmore, I took as a great feather in my cap.”

As everyone sees the “Call of the Mustaches” commercial, Offerman believes that viewers will be glued to the screen. “I think there's sort of a moment where it goes from being charming, in the narrative of the commercial, to a snacking dilemma at a party. Mr. P, the guy on the Pringles can, sends a Clarion call to call some mustaches to the rescue. I think that's when it flips from charming and enjoyable to utterly sublime, I imagine people will consider it the peak of the day's entertainment.”

Since it is the Big Game and snacks are part of the day’s events, the mustached man had a few tips for others to keep well-groomed while eating. While he is still finalizing his mustache workshop, Offerman encourages everyone to think about the food delivery system and contours of the mustache to ensure that nothing is spilled.

As a Midwest native, food is a significant part of his Big Game celebration. Offerman shared, “my wife and I, we kind of live in a travelling circus, so any given year, your guess is as good as mine as to where we'll be. But, my favorite place to be is with my big family in Illinois. Big game traditions have been established throughout my life and the thing I love the most about that is how everybody brings something. Instead spending a week putting on some gigantic spread, my dad is out in the yard, in the freezing cold, smoking a pork shoulder or my sisters are fashioning exciting new ingredients into their dip. That’s my favorite thing is when it's an opportunity for my big family to get together and eat and drink and watch some sportball.”

Given that Offerman is a master builder, he has can use of his beautifully made boards for a charcuterie or cheese. As he said, “I love a big organic shape that's been beautifully finished with some oil. It ups the charm in delivering your cured meats and cheeses and olives and crackers and Pringles snack crisps.”

Speaking of Pringles, he is a big fan of the popular snack food. But, when Offerman explains the simple crisps, it just sounds more poetic.

“I'm a simple person. First and foremost, I just love the comfort of a sleeve of Pringles. I love chips also, but with a bag of chips you're sticking your hand into bag and you don't know if it is going to end up being crummy and crumbled. With  a sleeve of snack crisps, like Pringles, it's engineered to be perfect every time. I just love that delivery system. I do also love stacking a cheddar or a BBQ flavored Pringle and putting a few little strips of bacon on it. To me, that's the most exquisite thing you can do.”

While Offerman has an elevated version of the traditional Pringles flavor stacking, it is showcased the sophistication that is expected from a man who has joined the mustached elite. Maybe the next round of Pringles commercials will focus on the elegant flavor stacking combinations.

On this Super Bowl Sunday, the Call of the Mustaches must be answered. Even if the party does not have a couch full of whiskered men, let Mr. P and his sleeves of Pringles represent at the event. After all, everyone can ‘Stache Up for one night.
