Roll into good flavor with these 2024 Universal Orlando Mardi Gras foods
With the annual event beginning on February 3, the recently released 2024 Universal Orlando Mardi Gras food menu has guests tasting bites from across the globe. From returning favorites to vegetable forward choices, it might be a good bet to buy that tasting lanyard.
Over the years, Universal Orlando Resort has used its Mardi Gras celebration to showcase its culinary creativity. While people often order, and order again, the iconic beignets, the other globally inspired food choices are a celebration of the culinary talent from the food and beverage team. From China to Belgium and France to the Philippines, tasting all the delights might discover a common thread across those food miles.
Looking at the recently released menus, a few items will have people longing for that first bite. For example, the Thailand Green Papaya Salad with Shrimp will be a vibrant, texturally complex offering. Plus, that papaya is good for digestion.
From Puerto Rico, the Bacalaitos might be a dish that some people have never experienced. The crispy salt cod fritters are unlike anything offered at other theme parks.
The Mexican Chilaquiles Verdes will be the perfect sharable dish. It is a tad spicy but nothing overpowering. Even though some people might pair it with a margarita, an ice-cold Abita beer, a New Orleans favorite, is an equally delightful pairing.
From sweet and savory waffles to indulgent crepes to even some cheesy spätzle, everyone better come hungry to experience this year’s Carnival of Flavors.
Universal Orlando Mardi Gras 2024 runs February 3 through April 7. Each night there are parades and select weekends have concerts. Check with the theme park app for schedules and appearances. Events are included with theme park admission and food purchases are separate.
