In a world where the purse strings have been tightened and the food budgets are constantly tweaked, consumers want value for every dollar and cent spent. With the new Chili’s 3 For Lunch Combos, the bountiful food on the table is worth every penny.

While quick quips on social media can get people’s attention, the reality is that consumers are discerning. Even though people might not want to read the fine print to decipher all that legalese, they want to feel appreciated with their purchase. Spending $5 to get a plate of food that resembles a kids’ meal portion is not a bigger value. It just leaves people hungry for more.

Chili’s has prioritized value on its menu. Specifically, the 3 For Me concept offers a greater return on investment than the fast food equivalent. Instead of being handed food in a bag, guests are greeted with a warm “Welcome to Chili’s” and the hospitality is enjoyed throughout the meal experience. The meal price might be more double than some quick service restaurant options, but the total package is worth the cost.

With the recent expansion, the Chili’s 3 For Lunch Combos continue that value proposition. Priced at $10.99, the meal includes bottomless chips and salsa, choice of entrée, and a bottomless non-alcoholic drink. Even a voracious appetite would leave this meal satiated.

As Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer, George Felix said, “We believe that our 3 For Lunch Combos are not only better quality but offer bigger portions and more variety than what you’ll find in fast food. This extension  of our 3 For Me menu to lunch continues to deliver great value in every sense of the word. We compared our entrées against what’s available in fast food, and we believe that the Chili’s 3 For Lunch Combos stand out – from the quality we offer, to the abundance of food and the price point.”

Although not necessarily a fair portion comparison, the $10.99 price for a sit-down, restaurant meal versus the drive-thru is clear. In today’s busy world, there is value for being able to leave the keyboard behind and unplug for lunch hour. That concept is just as vital as a hearty portion size.

Additionally, the 3 For Lunch Combos offers the variety that people crave. Anyone who has tried to organize a group outing appreciates that it can be difficult to satisfy all the flavor preferences. Chili’s has a little bit of everything on the menu. From the Big Smasher Burger to those famous Chicken Crispers, no one feels left out at this table.

Overall, this expansion of the Chili’s “3 Meal” concept is smart for the brand. Guests are no longer enticed by the “free food” promotion or the return voucher. People want every day value. When that craving hits, they want to walk in, sit down, eat, and still have money in their wallet. Chili’s captures that idea perfectly.

As more people appreciate the value of a Chili’s meal, the question no longer is – when was the last time that you went to Chili’s? The new question is, hungry to have a meal at Chili’s with me?
