While a Disney Cruise Line vacation is often a family affair, those magical moments do not have an age expiration. With the new Disney Destiny, the immersive food, beverage, and dining experiences prove that the darker side can be quite enticing for all ages.

For many Disney fans, stepping into that “Pixie Dusted” world is about the happily ever after. But, those fairy tale dreams cannot happen without facing a worthy adversary. While some people might revel in the darker side, there is something compelling that even the most pristine princess can see in those villainous personas.

In the newest ship to launch from Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Destiny welcomes both the heroes and the villains to the table. While no one will be able to turn those darker characters to the light, many people want to experience a little time standing in those shadowy worlds.

Speaking about the new Disney Destiny offerings, Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line said, “The Disney Destiny is all about celebrating the bold, charismatic and driven characters at the heart of our favorite stories. We want our guests to have fun with the unique theme of this ship, and we are having a blast creating spaces and entertainment experiences that pay tribute to the villains, anti-heroes and mischief makers who have captivated Disney film and theme park audiences for generations.”

What are some villainous experiences that will captivate older Disney Destiny guests?

As many Disney Cruise Line guests appreciate, the quiet moments when adults can have their personal time are vital to the overall vacation. While other ships tout the ultimate multigenerational experience, Disney takes a slightly different approach with its balance.

With the new bars on the Disney Destiny, it turns a simple drink into thematic moment that people have come to expect from Disney creatives. For example, Cask and Cannon is more than just grabbing a bottle of grog and a rousing yo yo ho ho.

The Pirates of the Caribbean themed watering hole celebrates rum and its complexity. The collection of rare, specialty and vintage rums proves the classic spirit is more than just the mixer in those colorful tropical drinks. Hopefully there will be some rum tasting experiences available.

For a more sophisticated offering, the De Vil’s piano lounge will bring some old school glamour on board. The adult-exclusive lounge will be bathed in black, red, and white. Although guests may not have to wear that gown to sit at a table, they will be reminded of the beauty of refined elegance.

From sipping on a perfectly shaken martini to popping a few bubbles before dinner, this piano lounge will become the place to see and be seen.

In addition to these watering holes, the Haunted Mansion Parlor will be included on Disney Destiny. Set to debut on Disney Treasure, this slightly spooky spot will bring a seafaring twist to those darker tales. Although a hitch hiking ghost might not be following guests to their rooms, the spirited experience will make a memorable impression.

These ideas along with new dining experiences, attractions and other offerings on board will make Disney Destiny an option for families and even just adult Disney fans. Just like the villain is as vital to the story as the hero is, an older Disney fan is just as vital to the Disney vacation as the family.
