Since dad might be king of the castle, he deserves some spirited Father’s Day cocktails for his big day. Whether the time is spent grilling, relaxing in the back yard, or even hitting the links, these sippers will have the man of the house toasting to the good life.

Several years ago, Ryan Reynolds and Aviation American Gin poured its Father’s Day cocktail, The Vasectomy. While there have been cutting phrases and a few puns, the cocktail is quite refreshing for a summer day.

This year, Aviation American Gin takes a different slice to its Father’s Day offering. While Deadpool and Wolverine have some spirited banter in their upcoming movie, drinking this cocktail does not give anyone super hero powers, even if you drink a second one.

Ingredients

1.25oz AVIATION AMERICAN GIN – DEADPOOL EDITION

1oz Cranberry Juice

Dash lemon juice

3oz Tonic

Orange Twist

Method:

Add fresh ice to a tall glass.

Add 1 oz cranberry juice, 1.25 oz Aviation American Gin, and a dash of lemon juice.

Top off with 3 oz tonic.

Stir your cocktail with a bar spoon or teaspoon.

Garnish with an orange twist

Ingredients

1.5 oz of Dewar’s 12 Year Old

3 oz of club soda

2 oz lemonade

Method:

Combine all ingredients over ice in a highball glass and garnish with a lemon wheel. (If you’re looking for maximum authenticity, spear that lemon with a golf tee

Whether dad is tall in stature or sometimes needs to stand a little taller, he is always king on Father’s Day. This cocktail from Kevin Hart’s Gran Coramino Cristliano packs a big, bold punch, even if it is served in a short glass.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Gran Coramino Cristliano

1.5 oz bourbon

1.5 oz fresh lime juice

3 oz mint syrup

Directions:

Create mint simple syrup using 1/2 sugar, 1 bunch mint and 2 cups water in a pot and bring to a simmer until sugar is dissolved.

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and serve over crushed ice with mint garnish.

Wolfie’s Rockstar Martini Recipe

When a father and son duo come together, the results shake up special sipper. This Wolfie’s Whisky cocktail, created by Rod Stewart and his son Liam, will have dad enjoying the the good life on his special day. As he basks in the spotlight, raise a toast to a life well lived.

Ingredients:

40ml Wolfie’s whisky

15ml passionfruit liqueur

15ml vanilla syrup

15ml lime juice

Splash of champagne

Method:

Add 40ml of Wolfie’s to cocktail shaker

Add 15ml Passionfruit liqueur

Add 15ml vanilla syrup

Add 15ml freshly squeezed lime juice

Add ice to shaker and secure lid

Shake hard and fast, like you mean it.

Strain into your cocktail glass

Add a splash of champagne to the top of the cocktail

Forget the garnish – get sipping!

While “dad” might have started as someone’s knight in shining armor, he is still forging the path to keep everyone on the right road. With this cocktail from Chivas Regal XV, the flavor is bold, daring, and a little sweet. The flavors are unlike others on this list. For the dad who is always ahead of the group, this cocktail is a must.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Chivas Regal XV  

0.25 oz White Coconut

1 oz Kashmiri Green Tea

0.75 oz Lime Juice

0.5 oz Honey Syrup

Instructions:

Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. 

Shake until well chilled, double strain into a coupe glass.
