Hardee’s newest chicken sandwich is a twist on a beloved snack food

Looking for the latest food mash-up? Hardee’s new chicken sandwich and chicken tenders are a BBQ chip fan’s dream come true. Move over swicy chicken because it is all about the sweet and smoky at Hardee’s.

Many people love going to Hardee’s for their biscuits. Those freshly made, from scratch flakey delights are always a popular choice.

But, the chicken sandwiches and burgers are equally as craveable at Hardee’s. This summer, the quick service restaurant is testing two new chicken offerings. For some lucky people, these snack-inspired flavors could be the must have food of the summer.

Available Green Bay, WI; Dothan, AL and Louisville, KY, the BBQ Chip Glazed Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich and the BBQ Chip Glazed Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders will be available until September 3.

Although the restaurant brand does not reveal the exact flavor profile, many people can imagine the taste of a BBQ chip. Whether it is a classic snack brand or a private label offering, most people have had that snack food.

Converting that flavor into a glaze is smart for Hardee’s. It is unlike other QSR offerings. Instead of a another take on swicy, this idea has broad based appeal.

Although the sandwich does not add BBQ chips or incorporates them into the breading, it might be a fun addition to do at home. Not only would it enhance the flavor, but the additional texture would be delicious.

Also, if the BBQ Chip Glaze is successful, maybe guests could request it as a sauce on one of the burgers. For example, the BLT Frisco Angus Burger would be delicious with that flavor. As the sauce seeps into that sourdough bread, it might be the find of the summer.

For guests who are not in the limited test run for the BBQ Chip Glazed chicken offerings, there are two new BLT food items on the menu this summer. In addition to the BLT Frisco Angus Burger, there is a BLT Frisco Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich. That tangy offering is a great choice for an easy summer meal.
