While the Wizarding World has captivated Harry Potter fans with a taste of Butterbeer and the ability to cast a spell with their own wand, Food Network is transforming those iconic images and favorite memories into confectionary magic. In the new series Harry Potter Wizards of Baking, the new food television series will be a must watch for Potter fanatics.

Food Network programming reaches a wide audience because it blends food knowledge with over-the-top imaginative moments. The home baker might long to create that topsy turvy cake, but they can apply some elements of that impressive dessert in their own baking masterpiece.

In the new Harry Potter Wizards of Baking, the idea brings together two very passionate fan groups. While bakers will always watch the latest competition, this show has Harry Potter lovers skipping another viewing of the Half Blood Prince and watching those iconic images transformed into an epic dessert.

As Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery said, “With Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, the confectionary magic coming this November is splendidly real and unlike anything seen before. By tapping into the incredible fandom of Harry Potter, as well as that of Food Network’s holiday programming, it is a culinary competition that delivers on multiple levels with elevated culinary craftsmanship executed in an enchanted setting and airing during the most wonderful time of year.”

This special series blends many parts from the beloved movies and Food Network favorites. Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef join James and Oliver Phelps (who played Fred and George Weasley) and a group of talented bakers from across the United States. Both familiar and new faces join together in teams to earn the judges’ praises and the coveted title.

Bringing this concept to the screen is a smart idea for Food Network. While the food television network has numerous iconic shows, the connection between pop culture and food has skyrocketed over the past several years. People hunger for new interpretations of the familiar stories. It makes them appreciate the stories and characters that they fell in love with all those years ago.

While it appears that there will be a cookbook associated with this food television show, that offering is equally as vital. Food Network might have a bounty of recipes and inspiration online, putting these concepts directly into people’s hands becomes a lasting conversation piece.

Additionally, watching these confectionery delights will get people hungry for a taste of that Wizarding World. Whether they choose to whip up their own dessert or head to one of the Universal theme parks, people crave that real world food experience. Maybe one of these specialty items could be recreated by the culinary team at Universal.

For now, the countdown quickens to the premiers of Harry Potter Wizards of Baking. The premiere airs on Food Network, November 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Additionally, it will be available to stream on MAX.
