While Espresso Martini continues to be a popular cocktail, the traditional ingredients are not the only way to enjoy the spirited sipper. With the Irish Espresso Martini, a simple swap makes this cocktail perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

From the local bar to the cruise ship, everyone is raising a glass to the Espresso Martini. From the robust flavor from the espresso to the perfectly placed three espresso beans for garnish, the cocktail is delicious to enjoy before, during, and after dinner.

While the traditional recipe is made with vodka, it is not the only way to shake up the cocktail. As Craig van Niekerk, Global VP of Marketing for Kahlúa said, “The people have spoken, and we’ve listened. It’s time to stir up St. Patrick’s Day and have everyone enjoying their drinks – and what better way than with a Kahlúa Espresso Martini? Kahlúa makes moments less mundane by adding a boost of playfulness, bringing something extra to the everyday.”

The simple twist for St. Patrick’s Day is to swap the vodka for Jameson Irish Whiskey. Even though 85% of people have not had an espresso martini with Jameson, they are wanting to try it for St. Patrick’s Day. It is part of the growing trend of people wanting to personalize their celebrations for holidays. Just because an Irish stout or a green beer might be poured pint after pint, it does not have to be the only beverage enjoyed for the holiday celebration.

To make the Irish Espresso Martini here’s how:

Ingredients

Ice cubes

1 part Kahlúa

1 part Jameson Irish whiskey

1 part Espresso

3 Coffee Beans

Method

Fill a shaker with ice and add Kahlúa, Absolut (or Jameson), and espresso.

Shake until cold, about 15–20 seconds.

Strain into a martini or cocktail glass.

Garnish with 3 coffee beans for good luck.

With Jameson encouraging people to extend their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations this year with St. Patrick’s Day Eve, the Irish Espresso Martini can be an option to keep those spirited moments going all night long. That caffeine boost and a little luck can keep everyone bright eyed through the whole night.

This St. Patrick’s Day, it is fine to spin a yarn or offer a little blarney flattery. Just keep the baloney off those lips and raise a toast to the Irish Espresso Martini instead.
