Krispy Kreme fans cheer for the return of a fan favorite flavor

While there is always a place for the Original Glazed, that iconic waterfall of sweetness gets a makeover in July. Celebrate World Chocolate Day at Krispy Kreme and grab a dozen Chocolate Glazed doughnuts.

For many people, the hot, fresh doughnut straight off the line is irresistible. It might be that Red Light calling from a distance or just a craving for that deliciousness, those Krispy Kreme doughnuts are a favorite.

In honor of World Chocolate Day, Krispy Kreme will bring back the Chocolate Glazed doughnut for just two days, July 6 and July 7. There might have been fireworks a few days prior, but the flavor explosion is on the weekend.

As Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme said, “There’s nothing like our Chocolate Glazed doughnut, it’s a rare and special treat. From watching the chocolate glaze waterfall to the aroma of chocolate taking over shops to the taste of our fresh doughnuts bathed in chocolate glaze – there’s no better way to celebrate World Chocolate Day.”

This special offering will be the only time that Krispy Kreme will offer the Chocolate Glazed. Whether it is the solar eclipse that started kicked off the flavor in 2017 or other rare rollouts in subsequent years, people make a point to enjoy the special offering.

For those people who grab a doughnut or a dozen, consider transforming that doughnut into something more. Of course, an ice cream sandwich or sundae is a great choice. But, there are some other creative concepts that could have people thinking beyond its classic coffee pairing.

Another idea might be to use the doughnuts to make a version of s’mores. Consider putting a big marshmallow in the middle and charring it. A little dash of cinnamon can kick up the flavor, too.
