Popeyes kicks off football season with new Sweet ‘N Smokey Chipotle flavor
Staking its claim to be the Official Wing of Watching Football, Popeyes makes a big first play by launching Sweet ‘N Smokey Chipotle. The latest swicy food has people cheering for big, bold flavors.

Recently, it seems chicken wings and boneless chicken wings are no longer just a fast causal restaurant standard. Several quick service restaurants have added their versions to the menu. The newest flavor to join Popeyes’ chicken wing menu is Sweet ‘N Smokey Chipotle. While the flavor is not necessarily extreme heat, it does fall into the trending swicy category. Overall, the flavor is approachable.
The chipotle chili has a more subtle heat with an underlying smoky quality. That duality makes the flavor more enjoyable.
The sweetness in the Sweet ‘N Smokey Chipotle comes from honey. Mixed into the sauce, it helps to round out of the other bolder flavors, just like sugar tempers spice.
Sweet ‘N Smokey Chipotle joins the other chicken wing flavors which include Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Signature Hot, Ghost Pepper, Honey Lemon Pepper, and Sweet 'N Spicy. Basically, Popeyes has a flavor for any and every craving.
