Scarlett Johansson celebrates M&M’S playful side in the SBLVIII commercial

While many people dream of being named champion, earning that victory can be just beyond their grasp. In the M&M’S SBLVIII, Scarlett Johansson joins other almost champions to celebrate those almost victorious moments.

M&M’S just released its full SBLVIII commercial. Joining together almost champions from both sports and pop culture, the food brand has captured what it does best in these big moments, blend humor with relatability. While many people understand what it means to be “almost champions,” the reality is that there is something comforting to knowing that a champion lies within everyone.  

This year’s M&M’S Super Bowl ad features a group of almost NFL champions and a special appearance by Scarlett Johansson. Although she might seem like an unlikely addition to a sport-centric moment, she is an "almost champion in her profession.”   And, the commercial celebrates Peanut M&M’S, which happens to be her favorite.

Speaking to this campaign, Johansson said, "My favorite thing about Mars' M&M'S Super Bowl campaign is the encouragement to have fun and a sense of humor, whether you're a winner or not. It's playful and comforting at the same time, just like one of my all-time favorite Mars candies, Peanut Butter M&M'S. I hope the fans enjoy watching the ad as much as I enjoyed making it."

While that commercial during the big game might get people craving a handful of those colorful candies, there is another way for everyone to celebrate that playful and comforting side. Recently, M&M’S partnered with Champion to offer a playful, comfortable look for any and every moment.
