Universal Orlando reveals two new Butterbeer treats for Butterbeer Season
Whether it is the first sip of the day or the last taste to enjoy under the stars, Butterbeer is the must have beverage at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando Resorts. For this year’s Butterbeer Season, the Florida theme park will offer two new treats to satisfy that sweet craving.
From the first moment crossing under the arch of Hogsmeade or stepping into the hidden entrance of Diagon Alley, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando is unlike other theme park experiences. While some people might run to secure their spot in line for Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure, others stop mid-walk to be mesmerized by those details. Even though people understand that they are not necessary transported into that fictional world, it is a moment where real and imagination collide in the best possible way.
One of the many reasons why the Wizarding World of Harry Potter resonates with guests and has them coming back time and again is the food and beverage offerings across the various restaurants. From the sugary delights at Honeydukes to a hearty lunch at The Leaky Cauldron, the food and flavors offer an authentic taste of what people have envisioned for decades.
Given that Butterbeer is an iconic part of the Harry Potter world, the Universal culinary team took great care to ensure that that first sip is what everyone craved from the initial mention in those books. While the former Universal chef would never reveal the recipe that he perfected all those years ago, the reality is that today’s pour is just as delicious as those first ones.
Over the years, Butterbeer has evolved from those simple options. While people will always have their favorite beverage, regular, frozen, or hot, the flavor goes beyond the glass. From ice cream to desserts, the sweet, butterscotch notes have been transformed in many ways. Although there will never be an alcoholic version on the menu, the reality is that culinary creativity can spin its magic on new offerings.
For this year’s Butterbeer Season, Universal Orlando will be offering two new treats to enjoy. First, the ice lolly is Butterbeer flavored popsicle. Given the warm, sunny Florida days, this option will be quite enjoyable. But, like any dessert on a stick, be cautious when eating it. No one wants to spill. While Harry might be able to wave his wand and have a do-over, muggles are not as fortunate.
Also, Universal Orlando will offer Butterbeer caramels. These candies will quickly become a favorite. Although not endorsed by the theme park’s culinary team, it would make a great topping for a cupcake, a center for a chocolate cake, or even boosting that plain cup of coffee.
Butterbeer Season at Universal Orlando Resort will run from March 15 through April 30, 2024. In addition to this special event, the Florida theme park is hosting Mardi Gras International Flavors of Carnaval through April 7, 2024.
