While he might have hung up his cleats, Rob Gronkowski is never afraid of a little competition. With several Super Bowl rings on his fingers, he appreciates that being a winner requires determination, dedication, and a touch of spicy flare to capture people’s attention. In partnership with Avocados from Mexico, the NFL legend is ready to mix it up for the Big Game and a food win is within everyone’s reach.

Guacamole and football watching parties are always a winning combination. Some recipes make a splash like those memorable passes Gronk caught from Tom Brady. Other moments are the secret ingredient to a dish that allows the flavor to shine, like the perfect fake that creates an epic touchdown. Both scenarios are as equally as vital to the epic food spread.

With the Big Game set for February 9, Gronk and Avocados from Mexico have a game plan to ensure that the party host scores a flavor win with their guests. From a Buffalo inspired Gronkamole recipe to the Big Game Guac Pack, the pair are setting everyone up for a game day food victory.

Recently, Avocados from Mexico facilitated an interview with Rob Gronkowski for FoodSided. While Gronk will be in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX, he shared his advice on winning the game day celebration at home. It all starts with some versatile avocados.

Special for this year, Avocados from Mexico created a Guac Pack. The wearable item keeps that specialty made guac, chips and spices safe from any dreaded party foul spill. As Gronk commented, “I’m glad that Avocados from Mexico came through with the Guac Pack. No one wants to waste good food with a spill and this item hold everything in place. On game day, you are good to go with no party fouls.”

But, spills can happen. When asked for advice if someone spills during that Big Game party, Gronk said, “When you get knocked down, you always got to get back up. There's no doubt about that. I have been getting knocked down in life, but I got back up. It makes you stronger. You have to do it as a champion and do it with passion. As long as you do it with your heart and show everyone that you're there for the good time, that's how you get better.”

While everyone can recover from a party foul, flavorful food is a requirement at any celebration. This year, the Gronkamole is the recipe that will get all the attention from guests. Although Gronk did want the Bills to play in the final game, he is bringing a taste of Buffalo to the bowl with his recipe.

The Gronkamole is bursting with Buffalo spice flavor. It has heat, but it will not have people running to grab some milk to chug. As Gronk admitted, he prefers to keep the spice levels manageable in dishes.

When asked for his guacamole staples, he said, “I’m a basic guacamole guy, but I love my Buffalo guacamole because I’m from Buffalo. Other must have ingredients are Avocados from Mexico, some premium sea salt, and a little lemon squeezed on top. It is always a slam dunk.”

But, there is one ingredient that he skips in his guacamole. Gronk said, “if there's one thing to not put in guacamole, it is jalapenos. I’m not a jalapeno guy.”

Even if there might not be spice on his table for the Big Game, Gronk looks forward to being part of the experience. But, he does not feel the need to get back on the gridiron.

He said, “I did my time. I played in six Super Bowls and won four. I’m very satisfied with where I’m at and I know my playing days are over. I’m thrilled for the guys that are out on the field playing. It makes me happy to see them win games, go to the Super Bowl, and have that experience.”

With Super Bowl LIX in just a few days, it is time to get the food playbook ready. Grab some Avocados from Mexico, make some Gronkamole, and score a win with flavor. After all, everyone is a winner with some great avocado recipes.
