As the spring season blooms, certain food traditions find their way to the table. Instead of a bounty of fruits and vegetables, people seek a basket full of chocolatey treats. Snickers Eggs are back and bring more of the sweet, crunchy, and gooey goodness that people crave.
No matter a person’s age, the beloved Easter basket brings smiles all around the table. Even though few people would turn down bevy of sweet treats, everyone has a favorite item. For many people, it is a Snickers.
Over the years, that beloved Mars candy bar has satisfied the hangry. From the traditional offering to newer flavor varieties, people cannot get enough of the chocolate, caramel, nougat and roasted peanuts.

While anyone would be happy to see that traditional candy bar in the Easter basket, seasonal shapes amplify the celebration. The Snickers Eggs are back for the holiday.
As Allison Miazga-Bedrick, Vice President Seasonal Marketing, Mars Wrigley North America said, “Snickers Eggs are an irresistible springtime treat to satisfy consumers who are excited to start embracing seasonal rituals — they’re the perfect way to treat yourself now and fill their Easter baskets later.”
Everyone knows that the Easter bunny brings the baskets to the table, but there is one question that will never be solved. What comes first, the chicken or the egg? Mars has found its own answer to that question. This year’s celebration is clucking good because it is all about the Snickers Chicken.

With a rousing choco-doodle-doo, the Snickers Chicken will take over NYC’s Flatiron Plaza on March 28. For some lucky “farmers,” this larger than life chicken will lay some free Snickers Eggs each hour. Unlike the other “eggs” in the food conversation, these candies are plentiful and do not break the bank.
Miazga-Bedrick said, “We’re thrilled to bring Snickers Eggs, and of course, our Snickers Chicken, to New Yorkers next week to add some fun to the start of their spring celebrations.” Hopefully, this special event will bring some smiles to even the most cynical New Yorkers.
The free food promotion is fun, but there is more to this concept that just giving away candy. First, shaped candies are a big trend, especially for the seasonal offerings. People will always crave their favorite treat, but they want more or something special. Transforming the candy bar into an egg, pumpkin, or tree is vital to keep the food in the conversation.
Second, eggs are timely food topic. Mars is smart to add some levity to the conversation. Being able to hatch a good idea that resonates with its audience is vital to keeping the company relevant.
This spring season, it is time to crack open a Snickers egg and enjoy that milk chocolate, caramel, roasted peanuts, and nougat. The Mars candy season offering is available in stores now. Better grab some soon before the bunny hops away till next year.
