For Season 22, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, and Kristen Kish venture to the United States’ northern neighbor. With a bevy of Canadian cuisine to explore, the Top Chef Canada Cheftestants have a tall task to tackle. Who will impress the judges with innovative culinary creativity and perfect execution?

In the previous season, Top Chef saw many changes. With Kristen Kish expertly taking over hosting duties, the iconic food television show soared to new heights. Even though people debated the finale, only the judges and the diners at that last dinner can appreciate the intricacies and complexities that earned Danny Garcia the Top Chef title.

Additionally, Top Chef’s finale was a first, too. Filmed on board Holland America Line Eurodam, the last two episodes of the season celebrated what Top Chef does best. From highlighting HAL’s fresh fish program with culinary ambassador Chef Masaharu Morimoto to showcasing the various ports of call, Top Chef is more than just another culinary competition. It educates, entices, and excites viewers to come to the table for all types of food experiences.

For Top Chef Season 22, the Bravo food television show filmed in Canada. From the diverse culinary scene in Toronto, Gail Simmon’s hometown, to the rugged Calagary landscape, each episode and challenge will reveal another chapter in Canada’s rich culinary history. By the end of the season, viewers will appreciate that Canada is more than poutine, maple syrup, and a Montreal Bagel.

Set to debut on Thursday, March 13 on Bravo, the weekly episodes will be paired with secondary series, Last Chance Kitchen and The Dish with Kish. The sister programming offers a wonderful bookend to the popular main program.

In a recent announcement, Bravo shared the 15 Top Chef Canada Cheftestants. They are:

Anna “Anya” El-Wattar – San Francisco, CA

Paula Endara – Lexington, KY

Tristen Epps – Houston, TX

Corwin Hemming – Brooklyn, NY

Katianna Hong – Los Angeles, CA

Lana Lagomarsini – Harlem, NY

Henry Lu – Houston, TX

Vincenzo Loseto – St. Helena, CA

Zubair Mohjir – Chicago, IL

César Murillo – Chicago, IL

Massimo Piedimonte – Montreal, QC

Bailey Sullivan – Chicago, IL

Kat Turner – Los Angeles, CA

Shuai Wang – North Charleston, SC

Mimi Weissenborn – Portland, ME

As this list shows, Top Chef Season 22 has only one Canadian chef. The Montreal chef has big personality and should give viewers a strong taste of Canada’s culinary expertise.  But, there could always be a twist, like last season’s Last Chance Kitchen addition Chef Soo Ahn. Nothing is ever as it seems on Top Chef. Maybe there will be more Canadian chefs waiting in the wings.

While fans will be counting the days till the Top Chef Canada premiere, one thing is certain. Grab a Labatt’s Blue, make some poutine, and put on that hockey jersey. It is a list of cliches, but get all those items out of the way on episode one. This season will teach everyone that Canada is one of the culinary gems that will have people booking a trip up north.

Top Chef Season 22 premieres on Thursday, March 13 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. Episodes can be streamed the next day on Peacock.
