To kick off this year’s event, the popular theme parks are expanding their special offerings with several new menu items.
Many people can remember their first sip of Butterbeer. Whether sipped slowly on a bench enjoying the atmosphere in Hogsmeade or chugged after escaping the perils of Gringotts, the signature sweet flavor is unlike another other food. While the descriptions from those storied tales might create an expectation, there is nothing as satisfying as the real thing.
Over the past several years, Universal theme parks have celebrated Butterbeer season. This year, the event expanded beyond the turnstile with cookies, crackers, and more items capturing that special flavor. But, there is nothing more enjoyable than enjoying those specialty items that are only available at a Universal theme park.
For the current Butterbeer season, the culinary team has created a brand new, limited time dessert, a Butterbeer Cream Puff. Based on the photo, the crackling pate a choux is stuffed with a luscious pastry cream, topped with a fluffy cream, and studded with crispy pearls and a chocolate name plate.
This particular menu item is a curious choice for the culinary team. Given the upcoming Butterbeer Crepe at Epic Universe, this concept seems like almost a trial run of the flavored cream. While this pastry cream should be different than the Bavarian cream, there are some similarities.
Additionally, the Cream Puff is great option for people who love that Butterbeer pot of crème but want a textural component. The sugar cookie topped pastry brings that crunch to the creamy bite.
For guests who prefer a colder dessert, the Ice Lolly frozen dessert is now a permanent menu item. This handheld item is a great alternative to the frozen Butterbeer. On a warm day, it captures that nostalgia of enjoying a treat from the ice cream truck.
Additionally, a Butterbeer Flavored Chocolate Bar as well as a Butterbeer Caramel will be available. The caramel has a possibility to be a great item to take home and transform into another treat. Many people love to see how they can capture the Wizard World magic in their own kitchen.
