In today’s mobile world, no one wants to be tied to the kitchen or even the table. When that craving for cheesy, melty deliciousness hits, Velveeta has a new solution. Grab a packet of Vel2Go and start smothering any and every food.

Velveeta is a staple in many people’s pantries. Whether it tops nachos, folded into mac and cheese, or used in a dip, cooks have a multitude of uses. The only downside is that the cheesy goodness was not portable.

The Vel2Go captures two food trends. First, condiments are king. Whether it is the bottle of hot sauce carried in a purse or the tray at the center of the table, people want to top their food with something. From spicy to sweet and sour to salty, few dishes are served plain.

Given that people want that condiment customization, having to-go options is vital for any brand. Ketchup, mustard, and even ranch are all available in packet form. It makes sense that Velveeta would want to join this market.

Last year, Velveeta launched its ready to eat queso. That food offered the convenience that people craved. The Vel2Go is another example of catering to people’s craving for convenience, especially with food that they like.

Second, this launch referred to Velveeta as a “big mood food.” More people are choosing ingredients to influence their feelings. It is more than just nostalgia or connecting with a memory. It shows that food is more than just sustenance. There is an emotional connection to the food that they eat.

The Vel2Go from Velveeta is available on Walmart.com. Sold as three cartons each containing four packets, the packets are sold for $5.91. It is available while supplies last.
