As the countdown quickens to Wendy’s Thin Mint Frosty hitting restaurants, the special frozen dessert item is more than the perfect pairing to the Hot and Crispy Fries. The newest flavor gives a glimpse into the future of the Frosty and supports future entrepreneurs with their annual cookie sales.
Seasons are important in the food world. It is more than the first bite of watermelon on a summer day or the return of pumpkin spice every fall. Certain events are expected, coveted, anticipated. Girl Scouts cookie season is one.
Whether it is a neighbor ringing on the door or the table set up by the grocery store, the annual cookie sale is a right of passage. It is impossible to resist that smiling face and box of tempting cookies.
Even though people focus on the sweet satisfaction of eating those cookies, the Girl Scouts event is about business entrepreneurial growth. Learning how to sell, manage inventory, and more is part of the learning process. Of course, the badge is great, but the lessons learned last far longer than the material sewed on a uniform.
In conjunction with the Wendy’s Thin Mint Frosty launch, restaurants will be helping the troops reach their cookie sales goals. 4,200 Wendy’s restaurants will be hosting Girl Scouts troops. Check with local restaurants to determine times and availability.
Since the new Thin Mint Frosty is delicious when paired with some Thin Mints, make sure to buy a box or two from the troops. Too bad there isn’t a bigger cookie option to make a sandwich dessert. Although, maybe there is a way to make an ice box pie at home.
What is Frosty’s future?
Over the past several years, the signature Wendy’s frozen dessert has evolved. While the classic chocolate will always be on the menu, the limited time flavors build excitement for saying yes to that sweet treat.
The new Thin Mint Frosty is different from the previous limited time offerings. This version is a swirl instead of a total flavor takeover. That aspect multiples the dessert options without taking anything away. For example, there will be four Frosty flavors available during this limited time offering, not just two. That represents a big change for the quick service restaurant.
During a special event in Miami, a “future of the Frosty” question was asked. According to a brand spokesperson, the potential for the “Famous Frosty” is great. Given that Gen Z and Millennials crave adventurous flavors and new takes on classic food, the ability to innovate is key to keeping Wendy’s at the forefront of the quick service industry. It might not fall under the Made to Crave umbrella, but it is a clear nod to “Fast Food Done Right.”
Additionally, the brand alluded to the potential of more Frosty innovation. Specifically, they mentioned, “The culinary team continues to focus on putting the customer first with every new Frosty innovation, so stay tuned! “ It looks like there will be plenty of sweet celebrations at Wendy's this year.
