Best Baker in America episode meringue live stream: Watch online
The Best Baker in America must possess expert baking skills. This week’s episode, meringue, will push the bakers’ skill to the limits.
Certain desserts impress me. The technical skill to achieve the perfect macaron and a beautiful meringue is impressive. As a home baker, I haven’t mastered these skills, yet I’m in awe of those bakers who make these desserts look effortless. This week’s Best Baker in America has the seven remaining bakers tackle macarons and meringue.
According to the Food Network, episode meringue features the following.
"Seven bakers remain, and for the Skills Challenge they are charged with making two different flavors of macarons. Then, in the Master Challenge, the bakers must make their own highly-creative take on the dessert classic, baked Alaska, using torched meringue, cake and ice cream, with strawberry as the featured flavor. One baker is sent packing by host Adam Rapoport and judges Jason Smith and Marcela Valladolid."
Macarons, the delicate sweet treats, are a pastry marvel. If the kitchen is too hot, the pan isn’t level or another tiny detail is wrong, a macaron requires precision. These cookies aren’t grandma’s chocolate chip cookies. But, one bite of a perfect macaron will have you wanting to perfect this special treat.

If the bakers can make a delightful, light macaron, they should be in the running to be the Best Baker in America. It will be interesting to see what creative flavors are used. Hopefully, one baker will come up with something spectacular.
As for Baked Alaska, this classic dessert is making a comeback. While I doubt bakers will simply make a traditional version, the meringue needs to be perfection. The stiff white peaks that are beautifully charred leave no room for error. But will one baker cave under pressure? We will have to tune in to find out.
