Best Baker in America season 2: Everything we know so far
By Cody Schultz
After a successful first season, Best Baker In America will return to Food Network for a second season; here’s everything we know about Season 2 so far!
Last fall, Food Network unveiled its latest sweet sensation with the debut of its newest original series Best Baker in America. Pulling together an elite all-star level cast of bakers – most of which who viewers had previously met via runs on notable Food Network titles including the Holiday Baking Championship – and put their skills to the test to determine which baker was worthy of the title of Best Baker in America and the $25,000 grand prize.
Following a successful debut season which quickly won over viewers, Food Network is bringing Best Baker in America back for a second season! Like in Season 1, the show will bring together a cast of elite bakers and will aim to challenge their skills to determine their technical proficiency as well as their ability to execute elaborate desserts while under intense pressure.

Hoping to capitalize on the show’s success, Food Network has announced that Season 2 will begin production in early 2018 with the new season set to premiere as part of its spring line-up. While an exact premiere date is not expected to be announced until closer to the premiere, it seems highly likely Season 2 will debut in early to mid April which has traditionally served as the launching time for Food Network’s spring lineup.
Season 2 will also consist of one episode more than the show’s first season with Food Network confirming that Best Baker in America‘s second season will consist of seven episodes. The addition of a seventh episode, as minor as it might seem, opens the door to a larger cast in the show’s second season which could see as many as 10 bakers competing.

As for the season’s judges? No official announcement has been made, but it all signs currently point to the return of Jason Smith and Marcela Valladolid. Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether Adam Rapoport will return as host and judge.
