M&M’S Chocolate Bars are coming and we can’t wait

Have you heard? M&M’S Chocolate Bars will be coming to the candy aisle. Will they satisfy your chocolate candy cravings?

Chocolate fans have another reason to indulge. M&M’S Chocolate Bars are hitting store shelves this December. Now, the candy that melts in your mouth, not in your hands will come in a new, sharable format. Are you prepared for this newest candy offering from M&M’s?

According to Mars, Incorporated, the new M&M’S Chocolate Bars will debut in stores starting December 2018. The chocolate bars will be available in five flavors, “Peanut (3.9 oz.), Milk Chocolate (4.0 oz.), Crispy (3.8 oz.), Almond (3.9 oz.) and Crispy Mint (3.8 oz.).” Each chocolate bar is described as “smooth milk chocolate with whole M&M’S® Minis visible throughout a large, molded and sharable bar format.” These chocolate bars will become a permanent part of the M&M’S line.

The addition of chocolate bars is an interesting twist for the candy giant. This type of chocolate bar will offer various textures which should make it quite enjoyable. The crunch from the colorful candy coated shells paired against the smooth, milk chocolate should be quite satisfying.

While the five flavors show a good variety of choices from the M&M’S line, it is curious that the caramel flavor didn’t make the short list of options. While the peanut and almond options seem obvious, the choice of Crispy Mint is quite curious. Sometimes mint, let alone Crispy Mint, doesn’t seem like a flavor that is universally popular. But, that flavor combination, both mint and crispy, may not have a direct competitor in the chocolate candy bar market.

Over the past couple of years, the brand has expanded the flavors of the classic M&M’S colorful candy coated shells. While many of these flavors are just limited edition options, fans have both liked and questioned some of the choices. While options like crispy and caramel were well received, some of the limited edition flavors were someone what questionable. Did anyone really like the candy corn variety?

In addition to the M&M’S Chocolate Bars, the brand announced that M&M’S Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies will be joining the permanent line of colorful candy coated shell candy. The brand mentioned that chocolate-hazelnut combination is a trend-forward flavor. While chocolate hazelnut flavors might be popping up all over the candy aisle, these M&M’S Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies won’t hit store shelves till April 2019.
