Hell’s Kitchen’s Chef T talks about her experience on Season 18
Returning veteran, Hell’s Kitchen’s Chef T was looking for redemption in Season 18. Unfortunately, that quest for the title of Hell’s Kitchen winner came up short.
Hell’s Kitchen Chef T returned to Season 18 hoping that the final door would open to the title of Hell’s Kitchen winner. In her previous season, Chef T came up just short. In this season’s rookies versus veterans scenario, the veteran chef hoped that her experience would lead to the ultimate glory.
In Hell’s Kitchen Season 18 episode 6, Chef T struggled. While usually confident on the line and in her cooking abilities, Chef T lost her rhythm. The meat station had numerous errors, primarily from Chef T. Although her cook was off, she didn’t communicate well with her fellow chefs. That communication error was equally as worrisome as undercooked steak.
The communication issues in episode 6 was contrary to her approach in previous episodes. After the teams went back to the red versus blue classic scenario, Chef T was a huge proponent of helping the rookie chefs. Her tone and communication focused on pushing out good food and finishing service. The change in attitude was quite unexpected.

Unfortunately, Chef T was eliminated in episode 6. The mistakes during that episode’s kitchen service were too much for Gordon Ramsay to overlook.
Recently, I had the opportunity to ask Hell’s Kitchen’s Chef T some questions about her experience on Season 18. Here’s a transcript of that conversation.
Cristine Struble: Chef T, after having previous success on Hell’s Kitchen, why did you want to return to the show?
Chef T: I returned to Hell’s Kitchen for a true shot at redemption.
CS: Did you think that the first teams, veterans/rookies versus men/women could have gotten you further in the competition?
CT: No, I don’t think any team vet/rookies or men/women would have gotten me any further. I basically held my own the entire competition and suddenly 1 bad service sent me home.
CS: Throughout your appearance, you were very vocal on the line, looking to keep everyone communicating in the kitchen, how important is good communication to a chef?
CT: Good communication is vital, it reduced chaos and eliminated errors.
CS: In your final episode, you struggled with steak temperatures, were you just having a bad night in the kitchen?
CT: Hindsight is 20/20, I should of just split the meat station between us, instead of me starting and relying on someone else to finish was my mistake. “Bad night” is an understatement.
CS: Which team do you think will have more success in this season, blue or red team?
CT: I’ve got to go team blue.
CS: What advice would you give a chef who is considering applying to Hell’s Kitchen?
CT: Stay focused, trust your gut. When you second guess, yourself you go home.
CS: What are you doing now?
CT: I am currently the Campus Executive Chef at Radford University in Virginia.
Thank you to Chef T for taking the time to answer these questions and I wish her well in her current position.
