McDonald’s International Menu includes a delicious Stroopwafel McFlurry

It’s official. McDonald’s International Menu is heading to your local McDonald’s and the Stroopwafel McFlurry will be your new food obsession.

Ready to try McDonald’s International Menu? The global fast food giant announced the official roll-out of four internationally inspired menu items. While one choice might look a little familiar, the Stroopewafel McFlurry will become the must immediately try menu item.

In a recent announcement, McDonald’s confirmed four new menu items that are inspired from international McDonald’s locations will be added. The limited time menu will roll-out starting June 5, at participating U.S. locations. The four menu items are Stroopwafel McFlurry (The Netherlands), Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger (Spain), Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich (Canada) and Cheesy Bacon Fries (Australia).

McDonald’s fans might be having a sense of déjà vu with the last menu item. As part of the Bacon focused menu earlier this year, Cheesy Bacon Fries were available. This menu item was rather popular. Truthfully, can you ever go wrong with McDonald’s famous fries smothered in real cheddar cheese sauce and Applewood Smoked Bacon?

One item will definitely make a huge splash, the Stroopwafel McFlurry. For those who are unfamiliar, a Stroopewafel is a slightly chewy, thin waffle that is filled with caramel. The round Stroopwafel is often served on top of a coffee mug. The warm coffee softens the Stroopwafel making the caramel a little gooey. It is a delicious Dutch treat.

For the McDonald’s McFlurry, it uses the iconic Daelmans Stroopwafel. After trying this frozen treat, I suggest going to your local store and stocking up on the Daelmans Stroopwafels. Whether paired with morning coffee or eaten as an afternoon snack, these treats are delicious anytime.

McDonald’s describes this McFlurry as a combination of vanilla soft serve, with rich caramel swirl and “chopped Dutch Daelmans Stroopwafel caramel waffle cookie pieces.” Since the cookie pieces are softer, don’t expect a crunchy texture. If you like caramel, this McFlurry will become your must have summer treat.

Maybe fans can push to have this McFlurry become a permanent menu item. In a way, a complete meal would be an order of Cheesy Bacon Fries and this McFlurry. The combination of sweet, salty and savory would be tremendous.

As for the other menu items, it is nice to see McDonald’s include both a burger and a chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich has a lot of flavors that are well suited for summer. It will be curious to see how the herb sauce on the chicken sandwich tastes.

Also, the use of Gouda on the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger is a nice change. The combination of bacon and Gouda is always a good one.

The McDonald’s International Menu will be available in restaurants starting June 5. Until then, you will just have to imagine what these new menu items taste like.
